"At the opening night party, they had clowns on stilts, jugglers, a chocolate fountain, popcorn, hot dogs. [My son] looked at me like I had been holding back. Like, 'This is what you do?' I had to tell him, 'No, no, darling. Opening nights don't usually look like this.' It's usually a dark bar with a bottle of vodka." ?Chitty Chitty Bang Bang's Jan Maxwell

When someone blunders, we say that he makes a misstep. Is it then not clear that all the ills of mankind, all the tragic misfortunes that fill our history books, all the political blunders, all the failures of the great leaders have arisen merely from a lack of skill in dancing. - Moliere
ummm... Scotty, how do u consider Color and Light Moving (unless u talk about the end duet between Dot and George) I would think We Do Not Belong together or Finishing the Hat would be considering moving not Color and Light.
And with the Sweeney Todd, I think that My Friends is one of the most bland songs in the entire show. I am the hugest fan of that show and probably one of the worst times in the show is My Friends. If you want moving listen to George Hearn or Brian Stokes Mitchell sing Ephiany or Hugh Panaro sing Johanna (such an incredible song)
Others I missed include
Your Nothing Without Me - City of Angels Wheel of Dreams - Ragtime The Ballad or Gueiteau - Assasains

I agree with the "all of Ragtime" post. Especially: Make them Hear You
and even more so, a song that I think is forgotten all to often, but has always struck me as incredibly powerful: He Wanted to Say....it always struck me as a song that really brings together the entire show...maybe thats just me though...

For heaven's sake, don't try to be cynical. It's perfectly easy to be cynical.

Depends what mood I'm in, however one that never fails to get me is Edelweiss. Especially if you know the context in which the song was written. (The last song R&H did together before he died)
