There were tons of quotes they could pull out of context from the New York Times. I don't see why anyone would have doubted that.

Before the original article was released people said the Times would kill it.

Yeah, the reviews were MUCH kinder than I expected.
Kinda makes me rethink seeing the show.

I don't care what the reviews say.
I'm going in there with an open mind.
Plus, having spent $25 on my ticket... Really?
It's a win-win for me. Appreciating Jasons' new show,
and a sprightful, talented cast / band.

PiraguaGuy - You just posted in the hit/flop thread that 13 was your "nobody gets it but me" show... how is that possible if you haven't even seen it yet?

I saw the show tonight, and I really enjoyed it. I actually thought the score was quite catchy and fit the tone of the show quite well. My only qualms were with the orchestrations and the set. I know the orchestrations had to fit the talented band members, but I would have liked some other instruments throw in there. The ballads felt repetitive with the same sort of guitar sound. Also, the set got to be pretty bland. I wish they had done something more with it. I would have liked to see more detailing and some attention to detail, and a design scheme! It was so bland! But the show was great, and the kids gave it a 110% and I found myself very entertained for 90 mins.

I agree, I loved the show but the sets I was slightly disappointed with after seeing production photos from the LA production.

Is it any good, or at least worthwhile to pay a ticket and miss another show? The music from what I hear thus far, is so-so, but I don't know, maybe the fresh talent of these kids is awesome.

@perfectliar - I enjoy the music and what I've seen, which is contrary to what I've heard all over the boards, so, yeah.

Really too bad this show didn't fare better with the crowds.
