ythcbroadway...negative comments from an usher PLEASE share it with the rest of the class. i'm really intrested to know what the usher thinks before i plan to attend this show. just kidding.. i don't think a usher opinion would really sway me one way or the other
I don't care what the reviews say. I'm going in there with an open mind. Plus, having spent $25 on my ticket... Really? It's a win-win for me. Appreciating Jasons' new show, and a sprightful, talented cast / band.
PiraguaGuy - You just posted in the hit/flop thread that 13 was your "nobody gets it but me" show... how is that possible if you haven't even seen it yet?
I saw the show tonight, and I really enjoyed it. I actually thought the score was quite catchy and fit the tone of the show quite well. My only qualms were with the orchestrations and the set. I know the orchestrations had to fit the talented band members, but I would have liked some other instruments throw in there. The ballads felt repetitive with the same sort of guitar sound. Also, the set got to be pretty bland. I wish they had done something more with it. I would have liked to see more detailing and some attention to detail, and a design scheme! It was so bland! But the show was great, and the kids gave it a 110% and I found myself very entertained for 90 mins.
^^^ I agree, I loved the show but the sets I was slightly disappointed with after seeing production photos from the LA production.

Is it any good, or at least worthwhile to pay a ticket and miss another show? The music from what I hear thus far, is so-so, but I don't know, maybe the fresh talent of these kids is awesome.
DEFINITELY!! THE SHOW IS AMAZING!!! i think its def. worth missing another show.
people just say the music is "so-so" becuase this is not how jason robert brown normally writes. but i like the change its fresh, its new, its entertaining

ATTENTION FANS: I will be played by James Barbour in the upcoming musical, "BroadwayWorld: The Musical."
Really too bad this show didn't fare better with the crowds.
And you think of all of the things you've seen, and you wish that you could live in between ,and you're back again only different than before...
After the Sky.
