Pittsburgh CLO will reduce programming from 6 shows to 3 (including one tour), due to financial constraints

Any chance Camelot will be the Aaron Sorkin book? I'm curious if his book will ever be licensed.

Didn't Disney already try this with Phantom of the Megaplex?

Revised Jane Eyre in Cleveland
 Sep 4 2024, 03:59:03 PM

Did anyone catch the Theatre Raleigh stream of Jane Eyre? I assume it was the revised version they performed as it had the opening from the Toronto cast album and it was missing "Perfectly Nice," "The Finer Things," "Farewell, Good Angel" and a few other bits. Still enjoyable though and the young girl playing young Jane and Adele was excellent.

If true will she get hate from the faithful for calling a bible story fiction?

Your favorite Maury Yeston song? Just one...

“The Proposal” was my first thought. I can’t think of very many platonic duets between two men or where they’re not pining after the same woman. Beautiful song.

SUNSET BOULEVARD 2024 West End Cast Recording Thread

FANtomFollies said: "This looks like it will be the most complete recording of the show yet."

How can you call this more complete? It seems likely to be the complete show as performed in this production but this production doesn't use "The Lady's Paying" or "Eternal Youth." The American Premiere Recording is pretty much complete it's just missing some scene change music and the exit music, though the Perfect Year pr

I was hoping for a cast album but this is better.

REBECCA: THE MUSICAL will have English language production in London

If they're going to finally license the English version it would have been nice to get a reference recording.

The Other One said: "What Did I Have That I Don't Have" was not added for the film. Barbara Harris sang the hell out of it on the OBCR, and you can see her perform it along with other excerpts from the show in this clip."

Thanks for the correction. I meant to say “Who Is There Among Us Who Knows.”

Complete Cast Recordings
 Aug 23 2024, 07:38:12 PM

The recent release of the complete Oklahoma! cast album and the upcoming complete Carousel cast album from Chandos got me thinking about other classic musicals I'd love to have complete cast albums of. The first one I thought of was On A Clear Day You Can See Forever. There are several songs that are not included on the original Broadway cast recording including "Ring Out the Bells," "Solicitor's Song," Daisy's "He Wasn't You," and "

SUNSET BLVD to transfer to Broadway

Broadway Flash said: "There are posters starting to go up in the subway. Their social media is officially in full swing."

What do the posters look like though? The marketing isn't very compelling to me. With the black and white picture and red text it kind of just looks like Nicole is joining the cast of Chicago.

WATER FOR ELEPHANTS Opening Night Critics' Reviews
 Aug 18 2024, 09:30:20 PM

Ryan McCartan would have been great. I'm curious if his story about losing a role to a "Nick Jonas type" was actually him being in consideration for Last Five Years and they just went with a bigger name.

THE NOTEBOOK To Launch National Tour Fall 2025
 Aug 17 2024, 05:06:41 PM

What even is a theatre song anymore? I think “If This is Love” is pretty solid and gives major Disney princess vibes. If it was on the soundtrack of a Disney animated movie it sounds like the kind of song that would have charted. It’s the song I keep going back to.

Next To Normal WEST END - News & Discussion Thread
 Aug 10 2024, 01:28:34 PM

I suppose there are subtle differences if I compare the same tracks one after the other. If anything to my ear and my AirPods the vocals sound closer and more compressed less open. I'm not sure that's a good thing. There are moments when the band sounds more prominent.

Can we discuss the newly released remixed and “remastered” Next to Normal 15th anniversary OBCR here or should it have its own thread?

SUFFS Original Broadway Cast Recording Thread
 Aug 6 2024, 12:29:08 AM

I’m probably just misremembering. I recall thinking it was weird that the artwork didn’t say “Original Broadway Cast Recording” but I might be thinking of the artwork for the Keep Marching single.

SUFFS Original Broadway Cast Recording Thread

Did the cover art change for anyone else on Apple Music? I swear when the full album was released it had the same cover as the Keep Marching single with the image of the suffragists at the top and it didn't say "Original Broadway Cast Recording" and now it's updated to just the SUFFS logo on the purple background with no suffragists and it says "Original Broadway Cast Recording." Am I misremembering?
