"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

So apropos! Would be hilarious if that was true. If not (which I am sure it is not, but tres hilarious to think it might be)...I hope she is back on tomorrow! Everyone needs to see what I cannot make it to see!!!!
Sad to hear it. I understand though. I was invited to a show tonight and my ankle is as big as a balloon. Got to love the effect rain has on my metal. I always know when it will rain. My leg was killing me yesterday. My leg can pick up on weather patterns now. IT REALLY SUCKS. Wishing Liza with a Z a speedy recovery. Maybe she has metal inside of her also. I know Chita does. Or did.
I wasn't invited to Liza's show. I was invited to Urban Stages tonight. But, I love Liza and hope she feels better. She is a legend after all.
I would never wish harm on someone for not inviting me to a show. I wish her well.
She is a true legend after all. Besides, her Mother is my favorite performer of all time. I think I have seen The Wizard of Oz 100 times. Updated On: 12/10/08 at 06:04 PM
That blows for the line of people waiting. I walked by around 4-ish and there were a handful of people sitting in the lobby waiting for rush tickets, I guess. So she did the matinee? Well, at least she only called out one show. Even the Lupone has missed one show.
So does Liza really have an understudy? I mean, isn't it Equity rules that you're suppose to have an understudy, or is that not true?
Well, i for one, was hit ( Monday) with that terrible stomach virus that's been going around in NYC. Believe me, if she has that she won't want to even waddle over to bathroom basin- it's terrible. Thank God, it only lasts 24 hours. Get well Liza !
