Wow, it's probably crazy there tonight. *Newbie question* Can you really just exchange your ticket for another performance? I have tickets for next Saturday and although I'm sure Jackie is excellent, I'd really hate to make the trip to New York for Idina then not be able to see her.
How as LaChanze not the first choice for the 9/11 Memorial? Her husband died in the Twin Towers when she was 8 months pregnant. Idina doesn't really have any connection and seems like more of a sleazey promotional opportunity. Love her and all, but it seems odd. Glad it worked out this way.

Wanting life but never
knowing how
Whast a damn shame. I presume as s standby and not an understudy, Jackie will not cover Idina's vacation days? I want to see a whole performance as her half was stunning. When she first came on stage people clapped which was nice. I think since we knew she had minutes to get mentally prepared, her performance was much more appreciated and impressive. Hope it wasn't an empty house.
This show will likely be better off closing whenever Idina leaves. Unless a big name replaces her.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
Well, I will count myself lucky that I saw yesterday's matinee. For the record with the amount of press, benefits and everything else Idina is doing it is no surprise that she wore down. Girl needs a day to do nothing.
Bway_Mill_Fan, I just looked at the cast listings again, and it appears that Jackie is the only one who covers Idina, so she would be the one to go on period.
I love Jenn. I can only imagine the things she could do with this score. I'm just glad that for the first time in a long time she is part of a successful musical.
Attended tonight, to be honest I really felt for Jackie, it was a half full house from a nearly full however, what an audience she had! Everyone was really behind her, she of course got a standing ovation at the end (as well as when she appeared for the first time) This, however, is the clincher for me. If you DID in fact attend tonight, you are allowed to come again when Idina is on. So all those people that lined up for an exchange or refund could have seen it twice. There were some VERY angry people tonight and I don't think that is fair.
Personally, I thought Jackie was incredible, like a cross between Idina herself and Lea Michele. I feel very lucky to have seen her performance.
