Jordan Catalano said: "This all sounds like he’s doing ALW a favor, even though ALW is basically tweeting out “Whaaaat I had no idea I hope we can work something out OMG this is totally news to me”.

I don't trust a word he says.

Oh 100%. He obviously was in on the announcement and, for the 100% selfish reason that I have tickets to it in a few weeks - I’m ok with it.

Next year when there is another scandal of how BoJo paid for house renovations we'll find that it was ALW who paid the bill!

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

As selfish the reasons may be for ALW to get preferential treatment, it blows opens the doors for other theatre owners like Nimax, ATG, the Panters, to say "What about us?" and I'm hopeful that'll lead to more theatres opening back up.

"Hey little girls, look at all the men in shiny shirts and no wives!" - Jackie Hoffman, Xanadu, 19 Feb 2008

You're funny....and it's a date!

This d*ck-measuring contest between ALW and Boris would be a lot more interesting if they looked like.....oh never mind.

If they don't cancel my ticket I'll be there next week and can provide thoughts on whether it's worth it - I admit I do not love ALW shows typically, but since the lyricist gave Bernadette those hilarious lines in THE GOODBYE GIRL I'm going in with an open mind.
