Guys! Thanksgiving is a month a way!! My favorite time of year, besides the tony awards, because I get too watch so many musical performances! Even though it's a month a way I think it would be nice to start brainstorming which shows will be featured.
I think Natasha, Waitress and dear Evan Hansen are likely to perform on the NBC telecast along with Hairspray Live. And on the CBS telecast I think Kinky Boots will end up performing.

Would the color purple perform even though they are rumored to close in January. I guess they would still try to push the marketing in the last month.

I heard from someone in the know who said this year Macy is doing something different. Instead of songs from musicals; they are going to do scenes from plays.

I'd love to see Holiday Inn, Paramour, and Hairspray Live. Though it's a long shot, maybe they can get Jon Jon Briones to do part of "The American Dream?"
Have off-Broadway shows ever performed at the Parade? I wish Cagney could do it; they'd be ideal...
Cirque du Soleil has had a float in the parade the past couple years and I would expect them to once again use it to promote Paramour like they did last year. The show is about the theatrics which are better performed on a custom built float then the concrete at herald square.
School of Rock/Cats- If i had to bet NBC wants Cats but ALW wants School of Rock to get the publicity. He hasn't had a hit on Broadway since Phantom and School of Rock seems very close recouping likely anytime between December and April if it can maintain grosses of $900k a week. Although I wouldn't be surprised if both shows perform.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will be the Spring show that gets the parade preview.
Waitress will likely get to perform
The Great Comet of 1812-stunt casting pays off in terms of easy publicity.
Holiday Inn might perform, but probably won't. The last Roundabout show to perform was Bye Bye Birdie which at the time was intended to be an "open ended" run.
Hairspray Live! -its corporate synergy. The only question is whether they will perform "You Can't Stop the Beat" or "Without Love". This will be determined by how much money NBC want to spend on cross country flights from LA to New York and hotels rooms on the second most expensive weekend in NYC.

So the lineup thus far is Cats, Holiday Inn, Hairspray Live, and the Rockettes. Apparently more performances will be announced in the coming weeks (I could definitely see like 2 more musicals performing- I wonder which ones!).
Then CBS usually gets a few musicals to perform that are pre taped.

Are the announced shows the complete list? I'm surprised there aren't more new shows in the lineup, particularly shows like In Transit and maybe A Bronx Tale that might benefit from the exposure.
