Shows normally don’t launch a tour until one of two things happens; a) the broadway company recoups its initial investment, or b) the broadway company has closed. I’m sure circumstances like the pandemic messed with Back to the Future’s timetables and they likely committed to presenters for the 2024-2025 season, but they really shot themselves in the foot here.

Broadway in Chicago is still using Playbill programs, so certainly not every touring market is impacted by this. It sounds more like the touring presenter in Minneapolis just didn’t want to pay for Playbills anymore and opted for something cheaper.

Pretty sure Aisha Jackson will be playing Middle Allie for the remainder of the shows run beginning October 8th. Announcement should come on Tuesday!

Max Chernin and Talia Suskauer will lead the tour as Leo and Lucille Frank, respectively.

I was thinking they couldn’t say what it was because it was a top secret Disney project, but perhaps not.

Joaquina Kalukango is now Sarah. Plus additional casting announced. 

Universal’s involvement with Wicked is interesting, because it started as a Marc Platt film that he was producing for Universal. Universal is only listed as a producer of the stage show because of that. Isn’t the current makeup of Universal Theatricals technically a continuation of Dreamworks Theatricals? 

Every white man over the age of 50 was offered Herbie. So, Danny Burstein is not too far off.

Unless The Notebook is allowing her out of the show the week following her debut, Anna Zavelson is probably going to have to dropout of this. 

The Back to the Future tour also cut a good amount of their strings, if not all of them.

I love her and she’ll be great in anything, but I’m sure if her name alone would be able to sell a show. So I’m curious what and with who it would be.

Yeah, no date or venue has been officially confirmed. Last season the venue and date were announced in early October. So, expect an announcement around then.

Probably a rarity for tours nowadays, but this production has gotten away with having a trap door! It’s utilized for the moaning Myrtle scene and a handful of other scenes.
