I might call Rent classic now (though it's a little soon), but I'd never call it classical.

Mine, from longest obsession to most recent:
West Side Story
Guys and Dolls
Sweeney Todd
Follies
Caroline, or Change
Light in the Piazza (recently, we'll see...)

I listen to so many shows. Usually changes to whatever show I am working on at the time. Right now my favorites are:
-Ragtime
-Rent
-Baby
-Falsettos
-A New Brain
-Grand Hotel
-Wicked
-Suessical
-Aida
-thoroughly Modern Millie
-Big River
-Jekyll & Hyde
-Les Miz
-Witches of Eastwick

A lot of them I performed, and a lot of them I just listen to during hard times. Just lost two friends in the St. Louis Community theatre world, and listening to some of these shows brings back so many memories of these shows.

Liz, can you please clarify the difference for me ? I think I have a vague idea, but being a foreigner and all, I am not sure of the distinction ! What I meant by classical is that, it looks like it has defied time and is considered an important must-have recording in musical theater. Should I have used classic instead ? Thanks !

RENT
Wicked
You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown

Kristin Chenoweth could barely control a Great Dane she trotted onto the stage. "Great, they gave me a dog that weighs five times what I do", she quipped. For the record, she weighs 93 pounds, and has a Maltese.
