I had tickets to see the show when I'm in NYC in April...and was really bummed about the fact that I had already bought the tickets (after hearing what friends said about the show -- not to mention what I read on the message boards...)

When I read late last week that Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa was coming in (or might be coming in) for rewrites, I thought - here was my chance...

I emailed Ticketmaster and a few days later they sent me an e-mail back saying that my credit card will be refunded.

Whoo-hoo! So glad Im not saddled with having to endure that mess of a show -- still in previews... Bless Ticketmaster

This was even before the news become public today that they hired Paul Bogaev as a consultant...

Well glad you got your money back if you wanted it but I would have gone to see it. I have yet to see it and even with all of this talk, I won't say it is good or "a mess of a show" until I actually see it for myself. Friends have told me about it and it wasn't all good but I won't judge the actual show until I see it. Now everything surrounding the show, is a mess!

I would still have gone to see it. I want to see for myself what this show is all about. I respect other opinions, but I always want to make my own. I will be coming to the city in the summer and I am definitely planning on seeing this. I just hope it is open by then.

Wow, I'm suprised they gave you a refund without a fight.

I totally understand your POV, about seeing what you want instead of something you feel you would just "endure". While I did go see this back a Xmas, there are plenty of shows that I just have no interest in: ROA, Rain, even Jersey Boys (Despite glowing reviews, I just don't care to see it.)

I can't say I'm GLAD to have seen Spidey, as it was worse than I could have imagined, but I know for myself. (But I won't be going back to give it a second shot.)

Dramamama- this is off subject, but I had absolutely no interest in seeing Jersey Boys, but when the national tour was part of my season ticket package, I went to see it. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I saw it three times after that and enjoef it even more. Evn though I don't care for the music of Four Seasons, I loved the story and how the music was tied into the story. Totally off topic, just thought I would share! :)

I know GADS of people that loved it. I don't care for their music, I don't care for that kind of story telling. Not going to happen.

Jersey Boys is way overhyped...you're not missing much, dramamama.

And I'm glad I saw Spider-Man, only because I was in the city with an open show slot and nothing else open that I wanted to see. If a better opportunity had presented itself, I wouldn't have seen it (ie, if Earnest hadn't been sold out...).

dramamama, I returned my ticket at the box office last month, no problem at all. Originally I was going to reschedule it, but at the time they were only selling to mid April and the seat I wanted or a comparable one was not available, so I asked if they would refund and with out a blink they did. Funny, I had no desire to see Jersey Boys either, not a real fan of the music either But it was the only show on TKTS that day that I did not see and I was curious about the rave it gets (which I am still curious about~LOL)

I shoul have listened to my higher power the first three times I had tickets that were cancelled. Since we were so sure of the opening, I tried for tickets and was nailed with their bait and switch tactics. I tried for a discounter, it came back as unavailable several times nut the moment I removed the discount code, it appeared-like magic! Ultimately, I'm glad I saw it, but can not recommend this to anyone, much less any Spiderman fans.

The Divine Sister is on sale for $29....WE HAD A MUCH BETTER TIME THERE THAN AT SPIDERMAN. I needed the laughs to make up for a total lack of laughter on the Foxwoods.

Well, just because there is a discount, doesn't mean it's good for all seats. Most shows have limits on which seats qualify and how many. I saw it with a discount.

I haven't seen the show but many have recommend that I do if only to say that I saw Spider-Man on Broadway. So, had it been me I would have seen the show anyway.

But, I can see where the OP is coming from also. It's one thing when you can just hop on the train and get the NYC but totally different when there's a plane involved and you're in town for a set period of time.

I for one am not looking for a refund unless they actually cancel the performance I booked for. But in my case i got a cheap-o balcony ticket and as I dont live in the US it's "now or never" for me. So I am dying to see it, flop or not I just want to say down the road "I was there when...."

I had seen the show December 30th and wanted to see it again to see what changes in made. In my opinion, it is not worth a return. Unless they make major changes to the story and add new songs I probably won't go back.

Don't understand why you're proud about this? I'm glad I saw it. It's an experience. That's like trying to get your money back for Carrie: the musical back in the day..... don't you wish you could say you saw Carrie? lol.

I plan to see it, but once it's in a frozen state. With the money I received from my refund, I purchased a Row F, Dead Center ticket for Priscilla.

Oh Madonnamusical....you really don't get it. Imagine being able to say that you saw Carrie The Musical AND they gave you your money back! I've seen this piece of shiz twice! I have submitted my request for refunds for BOTH performances!! And guess what! I am spreading the word to encourage others to demand their money back! Why? Because the producers should have NEVER been allowed to charge a dime for the public to see these rehearsals of a show that they knew fully well was NEVER going to be the one that actually had a opening night for press and Tony consideration.

I think its a shame that people are not making up their own minds on the show and instead getting refunds because of what others say.

Namo i love u but we get it already....you don't like Madonna

Sad? Really? They can't make an informed decision based on what they hear -- that is right for them? How is it any different than those that just choose NOT to see a show? I have no desire whatsoever to see Jersey Boys or ROA. REGARDLESS of the good or bad anyone has spoken of. They are shows that I don't think I would enjoy. Should I see them just because they exist? Ridiculous.

For some, they only want to see a frozen and complete show....and since they keep changing opening, that hasn't been possible yet.

How other spend their money is their own business.

songanddanceman2, I am making up my mind to not see an unfinished product. It has nothing to do with what people have said...

I called ticketmaster with the intention of moving my tickets to memorial day weekend (late May) but was offered a full refund and took it.

I can't believe you managed to get your money back.

Back in November during the first postponement, I attempted to get my money back from Ticketmaster, but was told no refunds, or get new tickets through boxoffice. The box office willingly gave me new tickets...then the next postponement came...and again I got new tickets for April. Now with word that Taymor is possibly out, and new extended postponement...I want out.

I contacted Ticketmaster with no luck ... saying they are not offering refunds due to this explanation: Ticketmaster collects the money for the tickets sold and then we remit all revenues directly to the promoter or venue involved. After an event has passed, the money collected has been paid, leaving Ticketmaster without those funds to pay out any more refunds."

I'm still going to attempt to go higher up the chain.

I mean i had decent hopes for this show...but it's getting beyond ridiculous!

Any other ideas on how to obtain a refund?

Thanks!

What a disaster this thing is...and nakedly commercial. I want to see art and creativity on Broadway, not swinging lawsuits!

ME TOO!

I'm happy to report after two days of unsuccesfully dealing with Ticketmaster...I walked up to the box office today and they gave me a refund, no questions asked.

Of course I doubt they will have any trouble at all reselling my ticket at same price...but I'm happy to be out of it until the summer.

The box office has been quite helpful and pleasant each time I asked for a date change after each postponement, and now this.

Very nice!
