She said she auditioned for Miss Hannigan 9 times for the last revival of Annie!! What are good roles for her? I hope she comes back to Broadway soon!! I <3 her!!
haha yeah, but she is hilarious!! She would have been a great Madame in Cinderella. She can play Madame Morrible in Wicked. Or Mama Morton in Chicago. But i want her to be in a new production!!
A friend of mine worked with her in Grease. Said that she was a nightmare to work with. I don't find her particularly funny and she seems mean. So no, I wouldn't like to see her back on Broadway any time soon.
If her experiences while working with "The View" is any indication, then many would like Rosie to stay far, far away from Broadway. Although she does a lot for charity...especially theatre education for children, I get the sense that her experiences with adults are more problematic. Rosie seems to want to be top dog anywhere and everywhere. She needs to stay the heck away from musicals. I don't think my ears could stand the torture.
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
I never understood the appeal of Rosie, personally. She always comes across to me as unfunny, way too boisterous, and really annoying with her comedy and acting. I'm sure it was a nightmare for those who had to sit through her performance in Fiddler. Plus, like some other posters have said EVERYBODY I know who has worked with her always says she's a horror to work with. Now I'm sorry I might come across as simply "hating" on Rosie but it's honestly just my opinion of her comedy, acting, and how most view her as a person. It's time for her to retire.
Her health hasn't been great over the last few years and her schedule on THE VIEW taxed her, which is one of the many reasons why she left suddenly. I doubt she would be able to maintain an eight-show-a-week workload even if she wanted to.

"Rosie is a triple threat performer: can't sing, can't dance, can't act!"
Awesome comment! HA
Sorry Rosie...we've tried. I've attended more than one show that she was in. Will someone please give her a paper bag so she can try to carry the tune in it?
I saw her in Grease and she ostentatiously half-assed it, did the whole show with a dramatically bored look on her face. I don't remember the details, but didn't she have some sort of public dispute or falling out involving the show? At the time, I attributed her terrible performance as her petty way of getting back at whoever she was beefing with.
