The show is almost over so I thought I'd start a thread for those of you who attended the final show to post in.
I'm off to a father's day BBQ and I hope to return to lots of great stories. Those of you who didn't enjoy the show - we get that you didn't like it. Really, we do! No need to repeat it here. At least on it's last day be sensitive to those who are sad to see it go.
Oh please. Like it wasn't obvious that I was going to start another one.
Though your "TTYL" post was quite heartwarming, I think the cast deserves a thread that stays on topic and remains somewhat sincere. I know that's a lot to ask on BWW but at least I can say I tried. *shrug*
WONDERFUL yet very sad show today. I don't normally cry at shows, or at last shows but I really cried at this one. It's an emotional show to begin with and the cast was just so into it tonight. There was such spirit...not that there isn't always spirit but tonight you could really feel it. I'm going to miss this show.
I know many of you didn't enjoy it but I did, whole heartedly, and I'm very sad to see it go! I wish everyone involved nothing but the best.
Both Boublil and Schonberg were in the audience. As was Sebastian Arcelus who was clapping very loudly for Stephanie (which was really cute). All the leads were given flowers at the end, but there was no speech or anything like there sometimes is.
"but there was no speech or anything like there sometimes is. "
If the writers had given a speech, they wouldn't have been able to without admitting how wrong and egotistical they had been and how it had lead to the shows inevitable demise.
" clapping very loudly for Stephanie"
That is so annoying to a regular audience member. I don't know what this Sebastian looks like, but I would have asked him to tone it down.
"Popular, don't you worry about people like this."
People who are cordial?!
"We know your post comes with the best and warmest wishes!"
Yes. If only she had used the search option with an equal amount of adamancy.
I really wish I had been able to see this, I loved the premise, and it seemed like something I would like. I'll definately buy the OBCR, just wish I could have seen it.
It is ridiculous to set a detective story in New York City. New York City is itself a detective story...

To get back ON topic, very sad show tonight. I am sad to see it go. Best of luck to everyone involved!
"This table, he is over one hundred years old. If I could, I would take an old gramophone needle and run it along the surface of the wood. To hear the music of the voices. All that was said." - Doug Wright, I Am My Own Wife
Off it goes into the dustbin with "Lestat", "Dance of the Vampires", "High Fidelity", "The Mambo Kings", "Ring of Fire", "Carrie", "Urban Cowboy", "Happy Feet", "Lennon" and so many other bad ideas that I can't remember.
"I've lost everything! Luis, Marty, my baby with Chris, Chris himself, James. All I ever wanted was love." --Sheridan Crane "Passions"

"Housework is like bad sex. Every time I do it, I swear I'll never do it again til the next time company comes."--"Lulu"

I chose, and my world was shaken- So what? The choice may have been mistaken,
The choosing was not...
"Every day has the potential to be the greatest day of your life." - Lin-Manuel Miranda
"And when Idina Menzel is singing, I'm always slightly worried that her teeth are going to jump out of her mouth and chase me." - Schmerg_the_Impaler
Okay so I just got home after seeing the show this afternoon...I went in with an open mind, despite reading both good and bad reviews. I have to say that I wasn't terribly impressed by this show.
The good...I liked the Irish dancing, singing by the three leads (Steph, Hadley, and Marcus) as well as the rest of the cast, the set, and costumes.
The bad...None of the songs seemed very memorable to me...although I'm sure I'll buy the cast recording when it comes out. The book was lousy...although I can't quite put my finger on a good reason why. I guess it seemed as though the story itself was all over the place...there was no continuity? (I'm not even sure I would describe it this way but for lack of better words...)
A few other posters had mentioned the potential in this show...and I have to agree. This show could've been a huge hit...had some additional work been done on it.
It's ironic that someone mentioned Sebastian being there. I was sitting in my seat and thought I saw him, but then I figured it couldn't be him, because this guy looked like he was 12. But it turns out it WAS him!
In any case...I am curious to see what's next for the leads...all three have gorgeous voices...
All in all, I'm glad I saw the show before it closed...and I have to say it...I'm glad I didn't pay full price for a ticket.
You are mind-boggling...I kindly asked you, through a PM, to please stop your ugly, nasty and condescending remarks! However, I guess your maturity is less than stellar. Geez, I wish I knew your parents. I would like have a nice conversation regarding your journalist tendencies towards bizarre.
Believe me, if I was behind you in the theatre this evening you would have a busted ear-drum from my screaming. I would have yelled, jumped and whistled and sang cheers for MY DAUGHTER Stephanie J. Block (right along with Sebastian Arcelus, my soon to be son-in-law)
Personally I am looking forward to not seeing your wise cracks and derogatory remarks of "The Pirate Queen" any longer! I’m sure you will find another horse to beat so you can be just as peculiar.
For my money and morals, I would have closed Spring Awakening. I can't believe that so many young people would rather see STAGE PORN. Isn’t there enough of that genre in movies and television?
I know I stated a month or so ago that I would not be getting on this board any longer, however BEN your constant stupidity is ruthless!
No offence lady Italy but...Stage Porn???? , you obviously missed the point.
Agree with you about B3TA07 hes a bloody idiot, everyone has the right to have an opinion about a show(i actually hated the pirate queen except for the amazing talent in it) but he just says things to provoke a reaction.
Hes a little kid who sits at home behind his computer all day listening to show tunes and doing nothing else.
Dont let him wind you up(one day he will have a PROFOUND shock)
Namo i love u but we get it already....you don't like Madonna
Wow. Apparently since the last time you decided to bitch me out you have forgotten how to PM.

Your 'daughter' would have been f-ing embarrassed by that. How sad.
My parents would be weirded out by your involvement on the internet and kindly asked you to leave. Before calling the police. And I live in Texas. Where we have the death penalty. For this I am so happy.
I'm not sure why songandanceman is personally attacking me, but rumor has it that is against the rules. He does not know me personally and is misrepresenting my ~fabulous self.~ And I am more likely to be listening to Norah Jones than showtunes, and am not a "little kid."
