Can't wait to see this show at the end of the month! It'll be my first time. Saying I'm excited would be an understatement!

A couple of things:

*I would just like to say (that it is my conviction, no) that I was a person who got up at the end, and I apologize thoroughly to anyone I distracted. We had waited all day for one of the 100 free tickets to our favorite show and were very excited to join the cast on stage and had a lot of trouble getting downstairs before capacity was reached in the past. Please don't ridicule or berate me, I understand it was a mistake and will not make it again.

*Also, the woman (horribly disrespectful, falling asleep woman) was the same woman who earlier that day cut in line to get a free ticket. I don't think she had any idea how to behave at a theatre and had no intention of going to HAIR when she woke up that morning. She was a huge reason I did not enjoy the show as thoroughly as I wish I could have. I saw it again last night from the lotto seats and was captivated, cried, danced, and gave Steel a dollar :)

I love this cast and although Shiela and Crissy could be better, Matt DeAngelis is at his best in his role.

If you haven't seen it, go see it!

Dennis-in-ct, you got me curious, I am wondering if it could be Sara Ruzicka (King) I saw her last year to as Maureen in Rent, she was awesome. I guess I will find out next week when I see the show.

"Larkin Bogan was just a playful last Tuesday night at the st James as he was at the Al Hirschfeld."

Larkin wasn't on on Tuesday night, he is now a swing and was sitting in the audience. I believe you're thinking about John Moauro.

Thank you all for clearing that up. Now I am even more curious who the actress is that sings "Black Boys". She is the blonde one. That is the one I am talking about. All great people.

Sara (Ruzicka) King :)

Glad to see all the Hair love!
I saw the last tour performance (in Orlando) before they left for New York. I am looking forward to their return to Florida (West Palm Beach) next year.

Thank you everyone for the corrections. It is difficult sometimes to tell who's who when most of the cast is just called "Tribe" :) I recognize the people from having seen it 9 times (yes I am insane for Hair - lol) by now you'd think I know all their birthdays.

I went to the website
http://www.hairontour.com/tribe.php

To see the cast to help me get the names straight. The bottom line is they are all great. And I am amazed how the actors can "do that" on stage over and over and be as good as they are. I have so much admiration and respect for the discipline and talent it must take to do this kind of job. I mean, I wonder if actors almost run on auto pilot or disconnect while performing. What does it do to the actor's psyche to be so emotionally intense show after show. It must takes it's toll on a person. How the hell they do it is amazing to me.

Wait...Larkin Bogan is now a swing? Isn't that a...de-motion? He understudied for Woof *and* Berger, the latter being no small feat. The second time I saw it in Chicago, he was on as Woof, and had as much charisma as any of the cast or leads. At one point his "audience post" was standing up on the seats right in front of us, and the guy gives it his all; he was lost in the joy of it all. A pleasure to watch. Why would they make him a swing when he's been *in* the show in a variety of roles, for so long, now?

(And he's totally adorable, so, good on ya, Bogan. :) How old is he, btw?)

Larkin has been a swing (u/s Claude, Woof) since the very first performance of the tour in New Haven. I remember opening my program that night and being very surprised to see that he wasn't in the tribe regularly. It's not like he was demoted when the show moved to broadway, he's been a swing on the tour since the very start.

Actually, since he is a swing, he gets paid on weekly basis, and extra for every performance he goes on, so it's not really a demotion per se. A swing has a lot of responsibility, including knowing about 10 different roles or tracks.

What else has he done?

Just curious, and not just about him. I mean, it's cute that the program is written all hippie-dippy-lovey-dovey and says all kinds of peace-love stuff next to their names, but as for me, I'm also curious what other parts they've played. I just find it interesting (which is why that's normally done, in the first place. I'm not the only one).

I would think that the main reason John got that tribe track over Larkin is because has been with the role forever. He did it in the park, on Broadway (Larkin replaced his track when the Aquarius tribe went across the pond), and in London, so why would they change his part that he's always had just to give it to Larkin who only had it once. I mean, I don't get why they wouldn't just give him a different tribe track, maybe because the stage would collapse with all that curly hair between him and john moauro..lol jk..but I don't think a swing role is a demotion.

(looks like he has only done HAIR, though it doesn't list if he did any regional or off broadway)

Did anyone buy tickets for HAIR on TDF? Just wondering where the seats have been thus far. Thanks!

So I know it's not eligible for revival, but is the cast in the limited engagement eligible for each's respective categories?

rougeduck, no.

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

I was also there on their opening night - I saw the show in Chicago twice and I thought Kaitlyn (sp?) was an interesting Chrissy - very folksy (almost Mary Magdalene/JCS sounding), but opening night her voice seemed to be a mess - during Frank Mills anyway. I'll add that I saw her on the street about 4 hours before the show smoking a cigarette and drinking a Sunkist, so I wasn't surprised that she sounded awful.

The rest of the cast was great though, and I LOVE Paris. The energy was high and you could tell that they were ecstatic to be back and it helped that the audience was very happy to have them back.

You'd certainly be shocked at the amount of Broadway actors you probably love and think sound amazing smoke.

I wish I could be there to welcome it home. Glad it's getting so much love. I miss it a ton. I saw the tour in Chicago, though, and it was in great shape. Paris is a magnificent Claude. I saw him in NYC, too.

Kad, I know your post wasn't directed towards me, but my statement comes from going to HS with Katie. I'm not just a fan lol. It's possible that she started smoking after HS, but she doesn't seem like the smoking type.
But yes, it's shocking how many musical theater professionals smoke yet still sound great.

To whoever asked about TDF seats, we got our tickets on TDF and we were in Row C on the right (so the second row). This was on Thursday night. And there was nobody in the row in front of us! It was incredible.

The show struck me in a way that I wasn't expecting and I was very emotional throughout the entire piece. I can't wait to go back!

Saw the touring production in May and Caryn Tackett was the weak link then...sounds like she still is.
