Ryan Gosling should also be in the mix- and he can actually sing and dance, on top of being a great and very funny actor.

Channing Tatum strikes me as still good casting for this.

In a Broadway season that is very packed with celebrities, it is wild people are dismissing a production for casting… theater names.

Same, especially after rumors like Keke Palmer and Paul Giamatti were being shared a few months ago.

Those rumors always seemed like wishful thinking and dream casting at best.

The R/W to 8th St. It’ll be less than a ten minute walk from there. 

This is a niche limited seasonal event that has fewer than 50 audience members per performance. It is not setting any standard for ticket prices. 

June is a pretty thankless role, imo. I would easily rank it behind Herbie, Louise, and even any of the stripper trio- the strippers get less stagetime but they get easily one of the best songs in the show and there's a lot more room for reinterpretation of those characters.

I’m also surprised they haven’t moved to 8th Ave to accommodate the growing crowds. I don’t know how such closures work, but perhaps it’s too expensive for a charity nonprofit to swing.

I was 16 when I joined BWW, but had been a member and more active on the now-defunct Musicals.net for several years (I think I joined there when I was 12 or 13!). When that site started going down the tubes- and it did, badly- I switched over here.

Considering how the offending posts were constantly deleted, it’s not unreasonable that a more casual poster wouldn’t have known the extent of how bad it was.

I think recent years have demonstrated that Little Shop is such a strongly written show that it basically always just works, with performers of different backgrounds bringing new things to it. 

It was definitely the case when Greene reprised the role at City Center in her (I believe) mid 60s.

I don’t know, I think both characters being middle aged adds a bit of poignancy to their desperation. Their lives have been so dead end for so long, and then finally something happens to turn it all around when they’ve both lost hope. It could add stakes for both of them.
