Hello Dolly Rush with Bernadette Peters?

Has anyone here rushed Hello Dolly since Bernadette Peters took over? I'm planning on going to see it soon and I was curious how early I should get in line. It doesn't matter whether its sro or rush and it can be matinee or evening performances.

Thanks!

Do they actually have a rush policy? They didn't with Midler. I'm not sure the show is regularly reaching the 100 percent capacity sell-out required to sell SRO either.

Here's an existing thread - though I'm the only person who has actually reported back from the rush so far!

If the rush tickets are in the rear balcony - why not just by them in advance at the same price on Today's tix?

When Bette was on, that was the SRO line. After SRO was sold out, they then sold those rear balcony seats (last 2 rows from what I recall). They didnt' call them rush tickets nor did they have a rush policy.

i agree with QueenAlice.... if it's going to be in balcony anyway, might as well buy in advance and save yourself from waiting in the cold. I believe balcony seats are discounted to $39 for Bernadette as well.

Those tickets on TodayTix aren't listed as being discounted either which means the box office would have them at that price as well which would allow you to save the $12.50 service fee. I don't even believe those are rush seats as much as they are the cheapest seat they have to offer if they are not selling SRO. I don't actually believe they have a rush policy even though everyone seems to assume what they did one show a week to boost attendance for Donna Murphy would now be done 8 shows a week for Bernadette.

Can anyone else report on this?a lot of upcoming week day/night shows have a lot of seats available, so why not bring back the $49 rush seats they had for Donna's shows?

Speaking for myself: I went to the rush line expecting to get SRO, as I preferred it to the rear balcony - I didn't even know until someone else in line told me that that they might sell rush tickets. When they weren't selling SRO right away, I opted for the rear balcony rush because I couldn't wait around, and at least I would avoid the ridiculous TodayTix fees.

And even if I had known ahead of time - I would have considered waiting in line anyway, because waking up early for a $39 seat might be preferable to paying $51.50 on Todaytix (including fees) for virtually the same seat. I was ready to drop $47 on SRO, but at the time I thought that was the cheapest option, and as I said, I prefer SRO to balcony.

Also - I believe all the rush tickets were the VERY last row of the Balcony, which is actually far preferable IMO to the few rows in front of it. Your view is most likely going to be party obstructed in any of those rear balcony rows, but because we were sitting in the very last row, we were able to stand up and shift position as we pleased without blocking anyone's view.

EDIT: also want to add that I believe the distinction between the "rush" seats and the regular $39 seats - besides being in the last row - is that they actually might hold them aside. Those rear balcony seats were not available on Telecharge before the box office opened, nor did TodayTix have any left for that day's performance.

Hi All! I just went to the box office today around 12:30p to see what was available for tonight. They told me they still had rush tickets available, and sold me a partial view orchestra ticket for $47. Hope this helps!

I'm planning a trip to New York City soon. I haven't seen Hello Dolly yet (yes, I know, shame on me...). How is Bernadette Peters? Is it worth it to buy a ticket? How do I get a rush deal?

Has anyone rushed HD lately?  I'll be there in a few weeks and want to see the show again.  Any input would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Neal.. it really depends on how busy the city is.  I rushed 40 minutes before curtain and got a extreme side orchestra seat.  That would not have been the case during spring break.

Bumping this thread because I rushed this morning. Arrived at 9:45am and there were two people in front of me getting rush tickets for the matinee -- I wanted tickets for this evening so no issues there.

I was able to get two orchestra right seats on the side. Row F seats 15 and 17. They're marked partial view but I'm hoping it's not too bad. $47 each.

I was first in line this morning, and when the box office opened at 10am, there were 4 people total.  I got row G, on the side.  :)  Can't beat that.

Just to clarify... there are rush tickets, yes?  I'm finding a lot of conflicting information about whether SRO is the only option.

Anyone tried recently? Wanting to give it a go in a few weeks for a Wednesday evening and was hoping they'd be one of the first few rows in the partial view seating (want to be close, seen it before). What have been your seating locations been for anyone that has tried it recently? Thanks!
