Don't you mean "Dressed In Your Pajamas In the Grand Salon"?

There are so many Sondheim examples that I can't think of just one.

I'm no the hugest Spring Awakening fan, but I love the one in Don't Do Sadness/Blue Wind.

Every single one in RENT gets to me...i think they're all amazing, especially christmas bells.

i'm also partial to the johanna reprise in sweeney todd, especially the movie one.

what about the next ten minutes from the last five years when jamie and cathy sing together? goodbye until tomorrow/i could never rescue you is so amazing it always makes me cry.

96,000 and Blackout are priceless...so much going on and yet it keeps you completely hooked.

the one that always gives me chills, though it is very brief. In Wicked during For Good near the end of the song. When Glinda and Elphaba are doing their last "I do believe I have been changed for the better." On "changed for the better" Kristin drops out of the unison into a fifth below the e idina sings, to an a. It is absolutely gorgeous. Especially when the A projects slightly louder.

Blackout from In the Heights
The Proposal/The Night Was Alive from Titanic

My favorite however is the act one finale from Urinetown. Just amazing.

"Kiss Me" Quartet from Sweeney Todd
The Phantom/Christine/Raoul part in "Down Once More/Track Down this Murderer" from Phantom of the Opera
"Christmas Bells" from Rent
"96,000" from In the Heights

Definitely Now/Later/Soon in A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC. That is masterful.

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

I've been listening to She Loves Me a lot recently, so I'd have to add "I Don't Know His Name".

Mmmm, in LOVE with counterpoint. If I were to write a musical, it would be chock-full of it. Incidentally, 'contrapuntal' is the most beautiful word ever. Here are some of my favourites:

"Kiss Me/Ladies In Their Sensitivities" from Sweeney Todd

Twenty-nine million other songs by Stephen Sondheim, so I'm not even going to list them

"Sirens" from Jane Eyre (one of my favourite songs ever)

"Confrontation" from Les Miserables

"One Day More" from Les Miserables

"Prima Donna" from Phantom of the Opera (I know, I know)

"On The Rise" from Dr. Horrible's Singalong Blog

"A Man's Gotta Do" from Dr. Horrible's Singalong Blog

"If Only Quartet" from The Little Mermaid (have I mentioned yet that I'm pathetic?)

"Tower of Babel" from Godspell (even though I really can't bring myself to like that musical)

"Pick A Little Talk A Little/Goodnight Ladies" from The Music Man (I was a Pickalittle Lady, so I'll always love that song) as well as the "Lida Rose/Will I Ever Tell You" one

Not sure if anyone's said this yet, but...

"The Factory Girls / Come Up to my Office" from Parade, when he's finishing "Come up to my office" and then the factory girls start in again. Awesome, IMO.

Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!

Heart and Music-A New Brain, especially the mid section where it's accapella...there's I think 7 parts...totally awesome!

SHREK has a lot of great moments for counterpoint in it, and they are:

Who I'd Be (great solo number turns into a fantastic trio from Shrek, Fiona, and Donkey)
I Think I Got You Beat (a gloriously funny 2-parter with Shrek and Fiona)
Travel Song (another gloriously funny one with Shrek and Donkey!)

Some of my favorites:
"I Still Believe" from "Miss Saigon"
"One Day More" from "Les Miserables"
"The Book Report" and "Glee Club Rehearsal" from YAGMCB.
Another one from Shrek:"I Know It's Today."

I wish I have seen this show to make sure this one is contrapuntal, but from the clip I have heard I think it is: "I am Changing" from "Yoduk Story."

I'm not completely sure I know what this means, but is "The I Love You Song" from SPELLING BEE an example. I think it is but I'm not sure. I love that song so much.

In HERE'S LOVE, Meredith Wilson took a song he had already written, IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS and added a new song PINE CONES AND HOLLY BERRIES.
It's simple and simply beautiful.

That one tiny bit in "You Gotta Get A Gimmick" from Gypsy. I don't know why, but I love it to pieces - it's so catchy and fun!

In addition to all the ones mentioned, which I LOVE, I also adore the two-part counterpoint between Audrey/Seymour and the rest of the company at the end of "Downtown" from Little Shop of Horrors.
