I don't know if I could single out anyone in Spelling Bee. I mean, Celia Keenan-Bolger and Dan Fogler most definitely deserve their nominations, but I think they could have had multiple noms for the rest of the cast. Just because it's an ensemble show doesn't mean that they need representatives in the acting categories. Jesse Tyler Ferguson should have been on that Tony list in my opinion. Hell, all of them should have, haha.

LisaGay Hamilton also.
Shame...

JESSICA HECHT- the sole amazing performance in Julius Caesar

DAVID HYDE PIERCE - his omission is sad but understandable because his role is really a small one (sure he has his big number but that's it). If he was in the supporting category, he'd have WON the damn thing.

CHRISTIAN BORLE - McGrath has paid his dues and Sieber is well-liked, but Borle was the best one in the show.

ZELJKO IVANEK - I'm glad Stuhlbarg was nominated, but this man just rocks. And talk about DUE.

SARAH URIARTE-BERRY - if her role was just a bit bigger, she'd be a shoo-in. I look forward to her next one. She'll get hers.

MICHAEL BENJAMIN WASHINGTON - knocked it out of the park every time he took the stage in La Cage. So what if Jerry Zaks never let the "Zis is for you Papa" joke pay off (the final one got consistent applause in the original) - Washington is wonderful. Is there a best legs Tony?

DAVID ROCKWELL - set designer for "All Shook Up"
KEN ROBERSON - choreographer for "All Shook Up"
ASU was deliberately dissed, and though I personally couldn't single out a single performer as nomination-worthy (except maybe Curtis Holbrook), Rockwell and Roberson were robbed.

Cheyenne Jackson
Orchestratrions - All Shook Up
Set Design - All Shook Up
Tobin Ost - Brooklyn (Costumes)
Christian Borle

and, seriously.... JOHN LITHGOW????? IMHO, He was pretty bad in that role.... (talk about being nominated because of who you are rather than what you actually put out onstage.)

and while im on the subject of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.... Choreography??? IMO, this was the most Hyped show of the season that didnt quite live up to that hype

Yes.
I think Bruce Vilanch should have been given a lifetime achievement award for excellence in the theater. His performance in Vampire Lesbians of Sodom and Hairspray deserved praise. And his performance at the Lortels deserved another award.
The man is naturally funny.
Thanks for the jokes Vilanch.
A very talented performer.

MAUREEN McGOVERN - brought warmth, poise and the best voice currently on Broadway to a lovely, if flawed show.

Yes, Denis O'Hare was fun. And a really nice guy. But I understand it was a tight category to begin with.
