Def Hunchback of Notre Dame!!! It was made in Germany why not take it to America??!!
I def want Nightmare Before Christmas as well! I think it would be cool and interesting to see how it can be adapted on the stage. I think it can work! Danny Elfman is a genuis!
I would Anastasia to be made as well, but Anastasia wasn't Disney, it was made by 20th Century Fox.

Just thinking

I wonder how much controversy there would be with Pocahontas...with Native American characters being played non Native Americans and other potential pitfalls.

I wonder how Arab Americans would feel about Aladdin the musical, some not to good sterotypes in that movie especially early on in the market scene.

I wonder if Disney would open up those cans of worms in a financial venture like this?

Well from what I have gathered Pocahontas in real life proberly looked more like Marilyn from "Northern Exposure" then the big and busty Amazon Warrior we got in the animated film.

I loathed Pocahontas as a kid, but it actually has somewhat grown on me in recent years, and "If I Never Knew You" is arguably one of the most heartbreaking songs ever.

I'd love "Hercules" for the Fates, the Muses and the Greek Chorus concept alone. Though seriously it would be very very difficult to adapt.

"Hunchback" is another film I hated to my very core, but unlike "Phocahontas" I still loathe it and frankly would be happy if it never sees the light of day.

Weren't there once rumors that Hunchback would be the next Disney musical coming to Broadway?

yeah definetley have to agree that Pocahontas would be awesome. It would b amazing...

Kristin Chenoweth could barely control a Great Dane she trotted onto the stage. "Great, they gave me a dog that weighs five times what I do", she quipped. For the record, she weighs 93 pounds, and has a Maltese.

Of Disney's "movie musicals" maybe HERCULES.

Of Disney's "normal" movies THE BLACK CAULDRON would have a thrilling story. And it would be a good chance for a composer to write a totally new score for Broadway.

Thumbelina maybe, it has great music. The story needs to be worked a little ,especially the love story. I just want to see more of a developing relationship between Thumbelina and Cornelius. He met her that one night before searching for her! Anyways, I think Thumbelina could work.

I'd have to say Hunchback of Notre Dame .... I saw the original production in Berlin and it was the most visually appealing and emotionally stirring of all the Disney musicals that have been done so far in NYC. I have no idea why it didn't transfer. The set was AMAZING ... think of it as a grid with nine huge pillars that could rise and fall to create the contours of the Notre Dame Cathedral and the depths of the Gypsy cavern. And, of course, Stephen Schwartz and Alan Menken once again provided an excellent score w/ several great new songs.

the Berlin cast recording of HOND totally rocks! "Einmal" or "Someday" is soooo amazing! The chorus is incredible! I wonder who would play Quasimodo. I think Mandy Gonzalez would make a great Esmeralda. ::sigh:: Disney please take this show to broadway!

I'd love to see Hercules and Aladdin.
Cheyenne Jackson should be Hercules (no blonde hair on him though). That would be heaven. :) Sara Ramirez or Eden would be perfect for Megara.
I'd say Cheyenne could be Aladdin too, but to be fair, Hugh Jackman can be Aladdin.
