POCOHANTAS. ( I forsee some awesome special effects!)
Mary Poppins (I know that there is a production), but I say leave "Mr. Producer" out of it. I think the movie version is pure fun and lighthearted magic. I about crapped myself when I heard TEMPER TEMPER from the OLC recording....I couldn't believe they made it have a dark side. That's ridiculous.

There are a limited number of animated Disney musicals:
LITTLE MERMAID BEAUTY & THE BEAST ALADDIN MULAN HERCULES POCAHONTAS HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME THE LION KING
The rest are all 'movies with music.'
I think all would work except for HERCULES and MULAN. MULAN is a great film, but I don't think it would transit to the stage well.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

The Little Mermaid would be awesome, think about all the wire effects for the underwater scenes. I am a huge little mermaid fan. Think about how cool it would look when Eric runs the ship into Ursula...
"All the while making faces like a baby platypus who forget to take some Beano before eating a chimichanga." FindingNamo in reference to Jessica Simpson's singing.
Not only effects for Pocahantas, but the music is some of the best Disney yet, and put back "If I Never Knew You" with Lea Solonga ast Pocahantas. It would be sweet.
"You know just because you put a smiley face after it doesn't change the fact that it was an a-hole comment." ~ Sumofallthings
Don't forget 101 Dalmations. Wouldn't that be hysterical? Having 101 actors in Dalmation costumes. I'll tell you what, though, Cruella DeVil would be a FANTASTIC role.
"I love talking about nothing. It is the only thing I know anything about." - Oscar Wilde
101 Dalmatians wasn't an animated musical. It was a movie with music. Only two or three songs, as the case with a lot of Disney movies: Pinocchio, Snow White, Peter Pan, Alice & Wonderland, etc.
However, this doesn't mean a Disney 'movie with music' couldn't be adapted. The danger is keeping the story and writing new music to fit it.

For voice, I would kill to see Sutton Foster as Pocohantas For appearance...hmm that's tough, she'd need to be pretty dark complected...Of course if you can make a white girl green every night, i'd say anything's possible...hmmm haha, I dunno, I guess considering how she runs around in skimpy costumes, you'd want someone who looks good, maybe a little toned....Jennifer Garner.
Ah geeze, i dunno, I just hope disney would never thrust someone like Romano into the role just cause she's a disney channel star....She was okay for belle, but I think Pocohantas is Disney's best Animated film (the score leaves me feeling like i'm in heaven and the story is awesome (a little adapted already, but still nice)....

I really don't like Pocahontas that much. I think that Bedknobs and Broomsticks would make a fun musical, and I could think of lots of ladies who could be awesome as Ms. Price
