It's been a while since I've seen the show, but I don't recall any audience interaction, aside from maybe the cast being sexy at you, lol.

I hope John Cardoza is the next Christian after Casey Cott leaves

Assuming he is leaving & Juliet in the coming weeks (it’s approaching its one-year anniversary which means contracts are expiring), I would love to see Daniel J. Maldonado return to Moulin Rouge! and play Christian in some capacity.

I’m no fan of this show, but he would be perfection. I already see him nailing the “Roxanne” opt-up.

He sounds perfectly fine especially for a first performance. I don’t think his casting is going to benefit the show much. Jojo was a much bigger name

yes Casey sorry! I agree he sounded good for his first performance. I think in the next month or so he will find his Christian and will sound a million times better. He did better with the high notes then the low ones I found that’s one thing I picked up on and it’s also nerves once he gains confidence he will be so good.

So I had a free Tuesday night and some Audience Rewards points to use up, so I made a return visit to Moulin Rouge! last night. I had not seen the show since pre-pandemic with the original Broadway cast, and was curious to see it again to A) see how it's held up and B) see a new cast.

The show has completely lost its luster. The entire principal cast was weak, and the ensemble had zero energy. Casey Cott is charming and pretty, but boy can't carry a tune to save his life. This is the third thing I have thing I have Courtney Reed in, and I am continuously baffled as to how she keeps getting work. She is bland, bland, bland. There is no sparkle to the "Sparkling Diamond" here...

The show remains a visual feast and looks great, but without a solid cast, the weak book and lazy interpolation of pop songs really shows through in ways it didn't when I saw the show with original cast (and I honestly wasn't really even in love with Tveit and Olivo). The stage adaptation completely lacks the emotional pathos and depth of the film. I have yet to see a Christian/Satine pairing onstage that comes even remotely close to McGregor and Kidman in the film.

It's always a shame to see long running shows "rot away", but that's my best description based on what I saw the Hirschfeld last night.

Seriously. Like what's his hot brother doing that he can't come back to Broadway? Where his talent is not wasted as opposed to his terrible shows and Hallmark (barf) he's been doing. What a waste.

At the very least, she was still popping up in his Instagram stories until very recently.

I wish they would just bring Aaron Tveit and Ashley Loren Back. I never saw Aaron but always wanted to. I saw Ashley Loren with Derek Klena and she was sensational. Derek too. It was one of the best performances i have ever seen.

Tituss Burgess to play Zidler beginning 10/10

This casting news is fantastic.

I will go back to see him..........BRAVO

Tituss is GREAT casting and might help their box office a little bit.

Feels beneath him to replace at this late stage in its run, but it’s a good part and I can’t blame him for wanting to play in that world.
