Boring AND poorly cast AND poorly performed. I really wanted it to be good.

I like Christopher Llyod.

I just flipped over to see Lloyd. He's terrible. Back to SVU.

Not gonna lie.. I think Marin sounds awful. Sounds hoarse and just not vocally strong at all.

Bryne.. interesting choice

OK, I tuned in for a minute and I thought Marin Mazzie sounded glorious.

I am actually enjoying Marin's performance.

This production is much better then that dreadful tour with Lou Diamond Phillips.

Lovely if it engages those of you who don't know it but
it's one of my sentimental favorites - the original cast album
and even the film...but, given that, this is indeed an oy vey
moment. Choreography, casting, performances ..well, I'm very glad I didn't buy tickets...and disappointed, too.

byrne is painfully miscast ... "how to handle a woman" was torture.

gunn's pants are hot.

I really enjoyed the Lou Diamond Phillips tour. I liked a lot of the changes Michael Learner made.

I don't understand the costume design. Did I just see a messenger wearing Chucks? And Lancelot wears leather chaps?

plus, nathan gunn is a total barihunk -- every opera queen in america is plotzing at the idea of him in chaps. (present company included.)

Who can be more delicious than Marc Kudish? Even Nathen Gunn cannot beat him.

There are some of the weirdest camera shoots I ever saw on tv. Quite awkward.

Especially when he has that sense of menace about him. RAWR

this production must suck if cat-calling nathan and mark is the best we can come up with.

Intermission.
I am slightly disappointed.
The score is just amazing and now that I hear it I actually miss Burton, I can hear him singing it and He did sing it.
Gunn is wonderful.
Byrne's acting is picking up, but his singing is awkward at the least.
Mazzie has a glorious instrument but I miss a lightness, would have loved to hear someone like Ashley Brown attack it.
The costumes are weird.

The camera work is appaling.

Act II is starting......

*sigh*

I saw the NY Philharmonic's concert/performance of MY FAIR LADY last year, which I LOVED, so I was SO eager to see this performance!

I have tickets for it tomorrow night. I am not watching the broadcast of it tonight, but from what I'm reading, I hope they tighten it up for the rest of the performances...

If they're not "bringing it" for a taped broadcast that will be documented forever they're not going to "bring it" tomorrow or any other day.

Marc is Sir Lionel. He was "killed" and then "brought back to life" by Lancelot.

...I've never been a Mazzie fan, so reading the negative reviews is even more disappointing.

Too bad Kelli O'Hara is busy with SOUTH PACIFIC. She would have been perfect. A clear, pure voice...
