Posted: 1/10/05 at 5:45pmI saw him in Avenue Q, and it was very interesting because he doesn't really come off gay onstage. So then I met him afterwards at the stage door and I was just like, "Whoah! Hello gay man!" Haha. He's very over-the-top and energetic and happy in person. Great guy! We all talked for like 20 minutes.

Posted: 1/10/05 at 8:11pmjohn had his straight character (princeton) and gay character (rod) ...he was equally incredible at both..being gay doesn't mean you can't play straight characters (i could use countless examples), and being straight doesn't mean you can't play gay characters (ex: all the gay principals in rent were originally played by straight people, and hugh Jackman in BFO)
