Oye Vey.

'The Producers' closing April 22, 2007
 Feb 25 2007, 12:46:47 PM
I would have liked to see the Duo back in it to close the show. I would have seen it one last time with them in it.

It is an amazing show. Not sure it deserved 12 Tony awards, but if you look at the other shows that season...maybe it did..

I am glad they are pulling an MTV move by closing the show a little after its peak, and not after it has sat for years, stagnant with mediocre ticket sales. (like some other shows currently open for 10 years or more...)

re: Linda Eder in Sunday In the Park.........
 Feb 25 2007, 12:42:31 PM
Listen, I love Linda Eder. However, I love listening to her belt, sing 90's pop versions of songs. (I think her Garland stuff was her own rendition of Garland's songs.)

I am not sure how she'd fare in a Sondheim show.

Think of Bernadette playing Lucy in Jekyll...

Really awesome book. I enjoyed it.

Very funny FANatic. I just wish we didn't have to pay for those clips . Anyone think they'll release a CD of it? D

Did anyone see the show? How was it?

Can anyone find Usher's signature on that poster? Not only did he register for BWW today, but these are also his first sales on eBay. I think this guy is a total hoax trying to make a quick buck.

buyer beware....and apparently they are...no-one has bid on any of his auctions, yet.

re: Ticks (bugs) at the Ambassador Theatre?
 Jun 11 2006, 05:57:34 PM
Is this a joke? I am amused.

"Most ticks "hang out" on vegetation such as plants, trees, weeds, or grass in wooded areas. Generally, ticks are found where they are most likely to come in contact with animals- near streams, lakes, or by a path animals are known to travel daily for food or water. Some ticks also are found in nests, burrows, and places where their animal hosts live and sleep."

I don't think they can live in seat cushions. I can't believe the Daily News published t

re: XM Satellite Broadway channel is TOO repetitive
 Jun 11 2006, 05:42:15 PM
I have Sirius. It is not repetitive at all. They rotate their playlists fairly often. They also have programming on it. Seth Rudetsky, while annoying at times, puts on really good interviews with writers and actors.

Christine Pedi is hysterical. Michael Bourne is soo extremely knowledgeable about musicals; it is captivating to listen to him.

I am a big fan of the station!

I would highly recommend getting Sirius over XM if you enjoy b'way music.

re: Pig Farm at Roundabout

I want to comment on BroadwayBaby's post. A lot of the comedy of the show came from physical comedy. I think a lot of the humor would be lost in a "reading" of it. Did they act out a lot of the scenes?

Also, while some of the lines/phrases are repeated. They are repeated almost as David Mamet repeats words for emphasis. The words are very simplistic, but the real humor and depth to the play is in the subtext.

I would have to respectfully disagree. I did not find the humor juve

I didn't make it to the signing, but the CD is incredible!
Pig Farm at Roundabout
 Jun 10 2006, 11:37:37 AM
I saw Pig Farm last night, at Roundabout. It was their first performance. The show was hysterically funny. All four actors was great in their "comic intensity". Katie was even trying to contain herself from cracking up hysterically. The play is almost satire. They are not supposed to laugh at themselves, but some of the scenes are very funny.

There is a lot of physical comedy in the show. Dennis O'hare is a master at it. Katie, and Logan were great at the physical comedy as well.

re: Drowsy CD being released in a couple of days!!!
 Jun 7 2006, 05:30:10 PM
I live in westchester, new york (just north of the city.)
Here has been my experience looking for the CD:
The Barnes and Noble in my building, in White Plains, had 2 copies, but sold them. The Border's down the block has 8 copies, but can't sell them, because they didn't get the memo that they could sell them. The Barne's and Noble in Yonkers and Hartsdale doesn't have it in Stock. The FYE in White Plains basically gave me dirty looks, like "wtf...we have no clue what this Drowsy Chapero

re: Sutton Foster: June in January - Monday night!
 Jan 17 2006, 09:30:20 PM
I was at the 7:30 show with UMGeoboy. We had so much fun. She was incredible. What always gets me about Sutton is that she always looks like everything she sings and belts is so effortless. She was amazing.

She is so adorable.

It's because Adam Fleming is back the the b'way chorus, and not in the Chicago/Touring company.... lol
re: AVE Q - A flop in Las Vegas? I think not!
 Jan 2 2006, 08:39:34 PM
I just want to comment on Q in vegas.

Entertainment in Las Vegas works very different then entertainment in new york. Sources of revenue for a show are a bit different then other places. Casinos generally will subsidise the income of a show in order to attract gamblers to the casino. When Steve Wynn put Q in his casino he knew that it might not sell out every night. However, the type of person willing to see Q generally is a more intelligent, more cultured, higher-expendable-income pers

Do you want to know what happened?
 Dec 26 2005, 11:05:20 AM
Thank You touringchica. There are so many technical variables in putting on a touring show. Everything is done very quickly as well to maximize the number of performances in a week. Having 1 show out of 400+ a year go wrong is pretty impressive track recrod.

Personally, the theater should have cancelled the performance all-together. This might make some people unhappy, but it might have been best PR for the show and the theater.

re: Pajama Game

I love the show, and think Harry Connick Jr. is adorable, so I have my tickets.

I haven't heard much buzz about it.
I saw it at City Center Encores, and it was a great production. I am not sure if this is going to be a concert version, like that was , or a full scale production. I would love any info if anyone has it.
