Does anyone have experience buying tickets through broadway.com?   Are the tickets definitely legit and through a show's box office or are they resale through individual resellers?  Thanks for any info/experience.

Another thnx for the Broadway.com tip!!!  Just bought a single for late April '17 for $332.55 - location Rear Mezz Row C dead center!!!   After getting so frustrated trying to get a ticket thru Ticketmaster this was a breeze maneuver.

And still, the book of mormon is sweeping box offices. Even though it is not as hard to get tickets anymore, they still manage to sell out before the curtain calls. I see hamilton having the same effect. Diving into the hype it has right now and seeing the show at its peak definitely is an exhilarating experience, but don't be discouraged if you're unable to see it. Even after waiting 5 years to see book or mormon, I loved ever second of it and I would see it again in a heartbeat."

I'm seeing Book of Mormon in November here in Hershey PA where it will not sell out and the cheapest tickets are $25.

I just got this email from Ticketmaster. Never gotten one of these before. Did other people get it, too?

Sit Tight - Your Tickets Are Coming
For big events it takes time to ensure all orders are from real fans. We'll email you the minute they're ready to view/print/ship - it'll be in plenty of time for Hamilton (NY).

Yes, I got that same email. Wonder how that will ensure we are 'real fans?'

Yes.  It's ok.  Remember usually you get tickets to print just minutes after you purchase.  This is just to let you know nothing is wrong.

I'm unsure at this point. People are clearly still eager to see it judging by last night's ticket sales but I can't imagine them being able to resell them for more than an asking price of $849 once the cast has left.

I'm wondering about Broadway.com too. Is it generally reliable? They still seem to have tickets, but does anyone know if they're legitimate?

Absolutely not. They are a reseller. http://www.broadway.com/about-us/ticket-resell-license/

Probably like most other people on this site, I warn my friends away from them mainly because they are price gougers masquerading with such an official sound domain name, I doubt many will have had actual experience using tickets from them. Hamilton is a different story obviously.

I got the same email. Also, something I noticed was that my address is correct (it is a US address) however where it shows the total of my order it says Canadian Standard Mail. I e-mailed Ticketmaster about it last night but have yet to hear back. Should I call tomorrow if I don't get a reply by then? I just don't want there to be any problems with my order.

Thanks. You always seem pretty level-headed and smart about these things.

I had the same issue this morning.  Nothing to worry about.  I chatted with a Ticketmaster rep and he stated that even though it says Canadian Mail Service, you will get your tickets via US Postal Service.  This has also happened to me when I got tickets for rock shows and I never had a problem getting my tickets!

Oh wow, that's so strange! Yeah I'd never seen that happen before so I was starting to get pretty nervous, but thank you. I feel a lot better now. :)

I have been worrying about broadway.com, too. Thanks to the tip on this board, I snagged four orchestra seats for Thanksgiving weekend for $419 each. It was a relief to be able to buy them successfully after an hour of the Ticketmaster site crashing last night, and I thought the price was ok compared to crazy scalper prices, though I realize $100 of it was fees. But then I started to get nervous that maybe the tix are fake or something. All the complaints I see about Broadway.com online are about the fees, though, not about the tickets themselves. Are the fees the issue that has people concerned, or are some of these seats fake? I also am wondering how Broadway.com got orchestra seats to sell, and why they are priced so much lower than the Ticketmaster resale tix (which are listed at $1600 for the same date/time.) If anyone has info, I would be grateful to hear it. And thanks so much for the info already shared on this thread--so many helpful people here!

Oh good! I'm so glad it wasn't just me. That was new, so I panicked. I thought I was going to have to prove my fandom in an all out Hamilton battle royale or something!

And weird you guys got told your tickets would be sent via Canadian mail. I'm Canadian, and I didn't have the choice to have my tickets mailed to me. My only option was print at home. So it would be funny if they offered Canadian mail to Americans, and not Canadians.

Glad the Broadway.com tip was helpful!! I have never bought from them, but I can't IMAGINE their tickets aren't legit - they're too well known  and they've been around too long to be getting away with anything like that. My objections are to the FEES, mostly because they market themselves as THE place to buy tickets, when in fact they are resellers and they're upcharging every seat by at least $30. In most cases, you could just as easily buy through telecharge/ticketmaster for less money. Hamilton, obviously, is a different story. In all honesty, I'd much rather see the money go to them than to the scalpers. At least they're involved in the community and create editorial content for fans. And not for nothing, they could be charging a LOT more for those Hamilton tickets, so it seems like there might be some good will there.

Friends of mine bought tickets to Hamilton via Broadway.com last September when Ticketmaster was sold out of venue seats and they had no problems at all.  In fact, if you look at the Hamilton website, it actually lists Broadway.com as an official source for tickets:

"There are many ticket resellers and secondary markets for tickets. For the best seats and to eliminate the risk of fraud, get tickets in advance through the Box Office, TicketmasterTicketmaster Plus or Broadway.com."

Seems like they're probably cancelling orders that exceed ticket limits right before a new batch is released and including them there, so I would definitely not just check the "new dates" whenever a batch is released. When there was that big group of tickets that came out a few weeks back for that reason I accidentally bought too many not realizing the ticket limit was date dependent (it's almost impossible to find the limit on the app unless you know where to look), and they cancelled some of my orders this past Saturday. No complaints about the cancellation as they still retained my orders within the limit, so I was actually very relieved to have resolution since I've been so anxious since learning of my mistake. I feel bad for my friends who were supposed to go with me on the cancelled dates but c'est la vie. They'll just have to do their own leg work from now on. (I had tried to call and voluntarily cancel some to rectify the situation and get resolution but they wouldn't let me, which is annoying. But at least this way I didn't have to play favorites and ticketmaster chose for me.) It's too bad the ticket limits aren't clearer, especially when buying on the app, but at least I still get to introduce a few more friends to the show!  I hope my cancelled tickets ended up in the hands of some of you guys or other fans who will get to enjoy it themselves or allow their friends/family to enjoy it.

OH MY GOD I AM SO IN LOVE WITH THIS BOARD RIGHT NOW. I had completely accepted the fact that I would not be seeing Hamilton in New York for at least another year until this Broadway.com suggestion showed up!  I got tickets for Christmastime and Easter break for under 400!  That's insane!  What is going on?????

Just in case anyone needs another vote for this is normal, I bought my tickets in the last block, purchased in Jan 2016 for Dec 2016, I received this email the day after purchase, it's now June and my tickets are still not ready to print. They're fine - I see them in my TM account, one date, two tickets, not an over the limit void or anything type situation. Just can't print them yet.

Correct - they are listed on Hamilton's website.  You even pick up your tickets at the box office day of.

Trina,  thank you so much for the broadway.com info.  I got orchestra seats R1 and R3 on the aisle for $340 a piece.  The very next row, row Q sold through ticketmaster as premium at $849.

And as several people have already said, Broadway.com is officially endorsed on the Hamilton website. Broadway.com's parent company is also the largest or one of the largest producers of touring Broadway shows in the US, so they seem very legitimate.  The tickets can only be picked up at the Richard Rodgers will call so that is about as legitimate as it gets, I would say.  Thank you thank you thank you!
