If someone could grab me a "Falsettos" magnet and/or keychain, I'd appreciate it and will pay shipping plus a little extra for your trouble! I'm also dying to have a DH2 script if anybody finds one and is willing to part with it.

I wanted to check out Great Comet, but the line is too long now. Hopefully later. I also skipped the TDF table b/c that was mobbed. So far, I found some stuff, but not as exciting as years past.

I heard they have copies of the Anatole/Natasha letter at the Comet table. If anyone sees one and could pick one up for me, I'd pay plus throw in extra for your time and trouble. smiley

DO they still have drafts of scripts sometimes? If so can someone please see if they have an old Hairspray or something rotten script?

The Comet line looked to be at least an hour long. It stretched all the way down the street and then started o loop back around. DEH's line appeared to only be a little shorter.

Honestly, I wasn't particularly impressed this year and this will probably be my last flea market. Since they only use half the street now it's EXTREMELY congested. Also, the event appears to have been taken over by social media obsessed teenagers. Poor Stephanie J. Block nearly got trampled by some kids as she was trying to walk down the sidewalk because they wanted a selfie with her. They didn't give her the option to decline, either, as they just kind of surrounded her. It was ugly.

When did this obsession with "going live" start? I can't tell you how many times I walked past people holding up cell phones saying somwcvaroation of "hey guys! I'm live at the flea market.."

It's just not the same event it used to be.

^ I am with you, adamgeer. I spent not even 45 minutes there this morning, and that was enough for me. The crowds were terrible. More so than the past 2 years when I attended. It was impossible to get near any of the tables. I only got two things this year because I simply couldn't take the mob scene environment.

WHILe I found some magnificent finds, I still hate this one-sided Street setup. It’s crowded and I’m getting yelled at by people asking for “personal space” as were crowded 3 deep around a stack of Playbills.

I think I’m done purchasing for now and might just go back later for the free leftovers.

I am going to go back later. Once my nerves have calmed down a bit and can sit & be cool.

I went back to the TDF table just as they sold out of tickets. So, I fortunately was able to pay $20 to get something b/c they had leftovers. But, people pushed.  It was awful.

I agree that the time & effort for me to get to the city for this is becoming less important.  I should have just gotten a bus closer from my house to get me there 20 minutes after it started and having to head home at 5:30 instead of worrying about missing out.

TDF Table seems to get more and more popular each year. This year the last handful of tickets were done around 1:00 and by 1:15 they had sold all envelopes for $20 each. Many Perfect Crimes were there, however, I did see someone win Hamilton!

I bought these ballet shoes that were worn by the midwife in Wicked. It says "M. Fahn" on the box. Does anyone know who that is or how I can find out who that is?

I saw that. I ended up with a voucher for Marvelous Wonderettes.  Not my 1st choice, but it's something I at least will see.

Coming out of lurkdom to say I waited that Comet and left when I actually got to the table because everything was so crazy expensive. The look I got from someone when I said "oh wow" to something being $500 was astounding.  I know it's for charity but the prices went from like $5 egg shaker, $10 mug, $75+++++ for everything else.

I've attended the Flea Market 7 or 8 times now and this was probably my least favorite year (with the exception of the horrific Birdland edition). I used to buy a lot of Playbills, but the boxes were now continually swamped. I also saw several tables where dozens of Playbills had landed on the floor. Would be cool if people handled all Playbills with care and not just the ones they're interested in.

Anyhow, these are the items I bought:
- Aladdin Opening Night Playbill
- AIDI Playbill with Deborah Cox on the cover
- Paper props from Hamilton
- Paper props from The Producers
- 4 Jersey Boys costume sketches signed by the OBC (these were $100 but they're SO worth it)

I may go back around 5:30pm for one last round, but don't think I will be getting much more stuff than what I have right now.

Apparently they kept jacking the prices up. Curtain pieces ended up being $100 each by the end I heard. I think they underestimated how fervent some of their younger fans are. That Great Comet FB page (which I got banned from) is predominantly young 20s females and was insane

This sounds like it was absolute hell. Glad I made the choice to stay away from midtown today.

What usually is left at the end? Playbills? Were there window cards from shows this season & previous seasons? (GC, Falsettos, She Loved Me, Matilda) Just curious.

To be honest, it’s a crapshoot.

Although a lot of tables are starting to hit the crazy “EVERYTHING MUST GO” sales now, so...

I've been going for 7 years now, and I agree that this was the weakest year. And I'm sorry, things are getting out of hand what with lines and such. I did get some good finds, though:

Hello, Dolly! Metal Water Bottle (I LOVE this- I needed a metal one for my new job, and this one is all red and sleek and just says HELLO, DOLLY! Broadway 2017)

Hello, Dolly! Program (they were selling slightly bent ones for $20 rather than $40 in theatre- it's already under some books to press it back)

Lion King Blanket (with a free ornament)

She Loves Me Tony Press Box (stuffed vanilla ice cream - so cute!)

Avenue Q Tickets from the leftover $20 Pik-a-Tik envelopes (excited!)

Hedwig and the Angry Inch metal ticket keychain

About 5 Playbills

One of the Phantom of the Opera signboards for my sister for Christmas

Not a ton of stuff, but I was really happy with the finds I did manage. I didn't even bother with the Dear Evan Hansen or Great Comet lines, since I knew anything they had would be rather pricey and that I probably wouldn't buy it anyway. I didn't buy a ton of stuff, but I am very, very happy with what I did get, so it was a good day!

IF ANYONE CAN, PICK ME UP A LETTER OR CURTAIN PIECE! I would be willing to pay $40+ dollars for a curtain piece.
