Did I really just read that right? Annaleigh Ashford? Wow, she is the last actor I would ever think would read for Wednesday... I think it will be very interesting! I'm really, really excited for this.

Oh my god, this show has everything! Half naked guys and girl on girl action! - [title of show]
(My avatar? Why, yes! That is Laura Benanti making out with a chick!)
Annaleigh Ashford as Wednesday Addams??? You've got to be f***ing kidding me. Horrific casting. Hopefully she is just in it for the reading and is not cast for the Broadway show.

Krysta Rodriquez!?!?! WOW! I guess she never plans to take a break.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
I had the same "WTF?" reaction when I read Ashford would be playing Wednesday. Otherwise, a perfect cast. It is quite fantastic that they got Bebe Neuwirth, the most ideal person for Morticia. Hopefully she'll stick with the production through its Broadway run, then I will definitely see it.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
Most of us are just familiar with Ashford's ditzy side (Legally Blonde, Wicked), but I think she can pull it off. She is a very smart actress, and is absolutely hysterical. I think she would also be able to pull a role like Inga from Young Frankenstein off.
Now that I think about it - Annaleigh Ashford might not be bad for wednesday - who is definitely a witty character, it'd just be a new branch of humor for her to cover
This really is perfect casting. I can't believe Bebe, Nathan, Krysta!! Wow. I am so excited for this. What do you think the odds are for them keeping the same cast around for their Broadway run? And for a reading, how much are ensemble really needed?
So this is like, Sunday football armchair quarterbacking for the theater crowd?
Why dump on Annaleigh Ashford? She has talent and a rapidly expanding resume. I said months ago she should be creating another role, not playing Glinda in Chicago. I'm glad this is happening and we'll all probably laugh our asses off.
