I would think do to the lack of "groupies" that WSS would be marginally easier....but so not worth it.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I agree--this production of West Side Story isn't worth the $26.50 or the time and energy required to enter the lottery. Go with Hair.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

So Hair is better and easier to win than WSS?

WSS only calls about 9 names, it's 18 tickets. Hair is somewhere around 30 tickets I believe, so your chances are better there. Both lottos tend to be crowded but the odds seem to be better at Hair. I gotten in all 3 times I played Hair lotto, but didn't get into WSS until about the 9th time trying. Good luck at whichever you try!

Boy, some people have all the luck.

"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it." -Stephen Colbert

haha, only at Hair though, usually I'm not the lucky one. Two of the times I played were randomly not very crowded. The first time back in April, just about everyone there got in, so maybe that doesn't really count. re: Which lotto is easier for a Sunday? Hair or West Side?

Don't waist your time at the WSS lotto, it will just make you upset. The guy there is absolutely awful, he's so moody. You can not ask him any question without him snapping at you. I pretty much have stopped doing that lotto because it's so miserable. Hair is a fun lotto!

Very true, vis-a-vis the lotto guy at West Side Story. He seemed like he wanted to be anywhere but the Palace Theatre. Not to mention the fact that I have a strong sense that the lottery--like most Broadway lottos--is rigged. The first night I tried it, four of the nine people pulled had the same surname--a surname shared by a cast member. Coincidence? Probably not.

The guy at WSS was very irritable. And I think the way they do it would be very easy to rig it. All they have to do is have pockets inside of that little bag that they can slip the preferred names into. That said, I don't know if they do rig it and yesterday did the lottery for the first time and won. I thoroughly enjoyed the show and found parts of to be very moving. And the lottery on a Saturday was surprisingly uncrowded. Guess the tourists already have their tickets and the New Yorkers were out of town. I don't think there were 50 people there, maybe slightly more. Good luck!
