"Hair" was mentioned above.  That brought back memories of having seen "Hair" for the first time in 1968 London with my now-husband (at the time, we were U.S. Navy shipmates stationed in Scotland).  In 2011, we saw a touring company version here in San Diego.  In the process of Googling this afternoon, I found that San Diego's Old Globe Theatre will have a new production beginning in August.  Now, my husband and I have tickets for "Hair" in September, more than half a century after we first enjoyed (loved) it.  The venue at the Old Globe is the outdoor Lowell Davies Festival Center.  Quite excited, I (we) must say.

So, in response to the OP's question, definitely "Hair".

It’s probably a couple of years too soon, but I expect to see a lavish limited run heavily produced concert presentation of Bridges of Madison County no later than its 10th Anniversary in 2024. It’s Kelli’s favorite role and she wants to perform it again before she gets much older and I think she has the influence to make it happen.

Will Steven Pasquale appear opposite again? To judge from the comments on the recording sessions on YouTube, us common folk think he holds his own with Kelli. Some of the original reviews didn’t agree. Steven also got very strong reviews when he played Billy in the Chicago Lyric Opera’s production of Carousel.

On the other hand, on the personal level he and Kelli don’t seem very close and he’s not a big name. Who else might play the male lead?

Hmm. That's a good question. You need a big name with the pipes to sing the songs. Sometimes thats the hard thing to come by. Cheyenne might be a good choice.

They are actually good friends which they shared in many interviews. Casting was perfect and shouldn't change.

It’s definitely too early right now, but I think in a decade or two, Matilda and Gentleman’s Guide would be ripe for a great revival. Billy Elliot would be great too and could have the potential to happen before those two.

And I second Beauty and the Beast and Hairspray.
"

I’m a Reba fan as well and would love to see her in Hello Dolly!

I believe the last time she was on Broadway was 20 years ago?

My notion that they weren't particularly close was based on pretty weak evidence that I didn't recall seeing them performing together or even appearing together. Also they didn't appear to frequent each other's Instagram accounts.

But in March there was a roundtable cast reunion that included Kelli, Steven, Bartlett and Jason Robert Brown. There are almost two hours of this on YouTube, which includes some footage from the show.

I've always liked Steven's voice and wondered why he wasn't more appreciated.

I want to see a limited revival of Master Class starring Audra McDonald as Callas. They could extend with a long list of well known and talented stars who could pull it off!

Like it or not, Ragtime is not likely to be produced anytime soon precisely due to the factors you reference. A show about the African American experience written from a gaze of white saviorism by white writers based on a white man's novel is not what we need right now. Theonlyway I think it could work is if it was an African American director and predominately BIPOC creative team, and even then it would need rewrites to move beyond the tropes of the past.
"

People are calling “woke” on this but like, it’s not wrong. I do think people of different cultures can write about other cultures as long as they do their research and give credit where it’s due, *but* Ragtime has genuinely always been written by 2/3 of the show’s focus. You have a white composer and librettist, a Jewish lyricist and author, and yet no Black writers on board. We’re in a position now where so many wonderful BIPOC creators are beginning to get noticed, I would love to see one of them brought up to the big leagues, even just as a supervisor.

(and yeah the networks would never go for it but it’s such a necessary story right now, I feel like it would do *some ignorant people* good if it were broadcast nationwide)

I definitely remember seeing more than one conversation last summer about Ragtime and not wanting to see another show with Black suffering in it, and neither you nor SeanD2 are wrong at all about the points you made.

I have a hard time thinking of something prestige enough (or a fun revue) that could bring in the types of people who like theatre casually. I'm sure it's out there, though.

I want a Mame revival with Audra. She comes off very funny in her interviews, and I know several people who say Shuffle Along is their favorite performance from her. I'd also love a Heather Headley revival of N2N. She's kind of on the edge of being too old for it, so it'd have to be soon. She probably wouldn't have the time though, if her show continues to be a success.

Ah, there's the rub... I already cannot afford the ticket just typing that out.

Face it, tickets are hard to get for some shows and some stars under normal conditions - these limited run all-star lineups would be too hard to get and too expensive if you could get them.

The right pop star with a script revisions would make "Legally Blonde" a revival hit in my opinion. I can see it now, "BLONDE IS BACK!"

APPLAUSE or WOMAN OF THE YEAR with Cybill Shepherd or Christine Baranski.

WILL ROGERS FOLLIES with Nick Jonas. Or Matt McConahey.
