Re: Tim Hughes dragging Jordan Donica

Hoping for a Kritzer take-over in this. Umpress followed by Villafañe were the weak links. If they recast the leads- clean house on those two roles too. And never Hughes.

I don’t think Rob McClure chose to leave Damn Yankees - rather, the producers were looking for a celebrity to sell more tickets, and Paddington then fell like manna from heaven. I agree that NPH is kind of an odd choice for Applegate though. He strikes me as miscast.

Word on the street is that you will be seeing Kritzer next season. Just not in this.

Re: Tim Hughes dragging Jordan Donica

I was looking at the online tv listing for tomorrow, Wednesday, August 12, and for the 7am hour of the Today Show, this is what they have listed:

Actors Neil Patrick Harris, Julianne Hough and Austin Scott ("Damn Yankees")

Is this for the production we're talking about in this thread?

And I feel horrible for yours. You know you don't have to share every rude thought that comes to your mind. There's no quota for you to meet although no doubt you'd exceed it easily.

Re: Tim Hughes dragging Jordan Donica

Hi SteveSanders - I appreciate your message. Thank you. I didn't know if there was a production of Damn Yankees happening regionally where those three actors were going to be a part of or maybe if it is for the Broadway revival, so that is why I wanted to ask. People have been speculating about who may be in the Broadway revival cast, so when I saw something in the tv listings as publicized information, I was curious if anyone had more information before their interview tomorrow.

NYCtheater just apparently scooped the official announcement of this production and you're going to be a dick about it?

What with you being the most chronically inaccurate (not to mention rude) member on this board, this is a pretty clear case of projection.

Yes. As I said almost two weeks ago, the actor replacing Jordan Donica is a brilliant actor who will be incredible in the part which fits Austin Scott perfectly, yes? It was a huge get for this production. I'm also curious if NPH still has the star power he once did to fill seats 8 shows a week.

I just had to Google to remind myself who Austin Scott is, so let's temper the hyperbole a little bit. That said, I'm sure he'll be great. Enough to make me not violently roll my eyes at leggy blondes Harris and Hough? Remains to be seen.

Re: Tim Hughes dragging Jordan Donica

I don't need to temper a thing; he was my favorite Alexander Hamilton and played him for two years for a reason. He is incredibly talented and I'm very excited to see him again.

And please don't ever describe NPH as "leggy" again ;)

Neither of them were on The Today Show this morning. Looks like there's a delay with the announcement.

When I went to look for the segment on the dvr today, I saw that the Today Show had changed the listing lineup of who would be on. I took a photo of the listing last night. Wonder when we'll hear some official news!

Are they even trying anymore with these designs? This looks like the logo of an overpriced brick oven pizza restaurant in an airport.
