Thanks adampascalgal! Whoa... I didn't think so many people would tell me how much they liked this post (pm's included... y'all know who you are). I'm flattered, guys.
I now have such a split loyalty... I love Adam so much, but I have to share that love with Raul now! lol

Well there you go! That's why I haven't talked to you for weeks, because you were parading about with your lover on the side of Adam!! I'm so glad you had a great time seeing this show. Don't worry about your long post! Everyone can be interested in what you are doing, so have no fear. Besides, everyone was right, this was a beautiful post. I love your stories! We really need to catch up!

Posted: 6/3/04 at 10:16pmI finally saw a picture of Rauls wife, Michele. She's not what I expected (my twisted imagination invisioned a tall, leggy blonde - don't ask me why! : ). She's very cute and the weird thing is we sort of look alike! Its nice to know that I am his type, physically. :)

thanks hun...yah she's definitely not what I expected. I really couldn't say if that's a good thing or not. oh well now I'm feeling pangs of jealousy lol! Well, before I say something not so nice I'm just gonna say that she's a lucky girl and end this post...

yah the signing was great...it was such a funny situation having all those people screaming "did you see the size of that?" in the middle of virgin records and the lighters really were a nice touch! That cracked me up!

And I saw that picture too.... the one of Raul and his wife. Not what I expected either. She's a veryyyyy lucky woman. That's all I'll say to the effect of my jealousy. *elbows Wicked_Elphie*

i saw the normal heart twice and have plans to see it again.
you captured the essence of it perfectly.
and raul.. he's not aware yet that i'm going to marry him someday }:>
the second time i went we sat stage left, and when raul started throwing the groceries, he was facing me.. needless to say i was bawling at that point already because of felix's condition, but with every explosion of food i actually found myself flinching because he was so believable i felt like he was yelling at me!
there's so much more to tell, but it's late..
thanks again for praising possibly the greatest actor of all time.

overthemoon, first of all, I see you're new, so welcome! Or, in typical Emcee fashion... Willkommen. Bienvenue. Welcome. This place is so much fun... happy posting!
Anyway, thank you for reading my post. I totally appreciate anyone who sits through reading that entire thing. When I saw the play I wasn't sitting *that* close, but I flinched too! The only word I can use to describe it is intense...
Oh, and just a small, friendly warning. You've got some competition in the marriage department. Wicked_Elphie and I already have claims on Raul, as I'm sure lots of people do... he just doesn't know it yet.
Oh my... did I mention that I love him? I just listened to "Petrified." Tears my heart out every time. His voice is quiet possibly one of the sexiest things I've ever heard.... and I'll shut up now.

lol, we didn't think anyone would actually know - much less share - that. It just happened to come up in one of our oh-so-intelligent phone conversations that went something like:
"Hey, what's up?"
"Not much. So Raul... did I mention today that I love him?"
"Yeah, me too. I listened to 'Petrified' eight times today. I need to get out of my house or something..."

I just tried to see if I could find where i read that but I couldn't. I *think* it was an article from the Miami Herald from a while back (ttB days) - it was a good article too - showed alot of his soul - he talks about how his grandma saw him perform in RHS for the first time and how she passed away not too long after that. I believe he also mentions that he wears something of his grandfathers on a daily basis (a necklace or ring or something like that) - Geesh - I wish I could find it! I looked on RaulEsparza.com but the one that I think it is comes up as an error reading when I click on it. : ( I'll keep searching! : )

Okay - I found that article but his middle name wasn't in there but the story about his grandmother was. Here is it (FYI-I'd get tissues before reading this!) . . .
While he was playing Riff Raff in RHS, his parents brought his maternal grandmother to see her grandson perform on Broadway. It was her 93rd birthday, Dec. 22, 2000. A few days later, the family gathered in Wilmington, Rauls birthplace, to celebrate Christmas.
"I fell asleep in her lap, as she was stroking my head", says Esparza. "When I woke up, she said 'you haven't done that since you were a child. I could die tomorrow and be a happy woman."
The next day, she had a stroke. She passed away Jan. 18, but Esparza spent many of those last days by her side, leaning in close to her ear, softly singing her favorite Cuban songs. And now everytime he steps onstage, a part of her is with him.
"After my grandfather died, she would put drops of his Guerlain cologne on a handkerchief and carry it with her", Esparza says. "Now I wear it onstage in CABARET".
