Rainbow High...I'm SO glad you got to see stephanie! NO ONE can sing Never Neverland like she can. That IS her song!

Those three friends you were sitting with were my 3 friends but I was up front. when then sat me the only thing I could think of was "HOLY CRAP this is close!" since I was on the wait list I figured I'd be in the back but NO I was in the very front.

I agree Lisa sang beautifully! I've been wanting to hear her for a very long time but never have. I wish I had had the opportunity to meet her yesterday but didn't. I think she is beautiful!

edit: I have to say that that picture that was just posted of Eden and Stephanie may be my favorite! Two of the most talented women I've ever known!

What is your dream role?
My dream role would be to be myself. To be performing at the Hollywood Bowl and to have an audience there just to see me, as Stephanie. They are there because they like what I do as a singer, an artist and a person (the last being the most important). I enjoy escaping and portraying other characters, but to be accepted and wanted as yourself... that's amazing! --Stephanie J. Block Just one of the many reasons I admire and respect Stephanie!!

"...I just thought I'd post a really quick review of tonight's show..."

Maniac, the mind boggles at what a 'thorough' review would be like! re: Stephanie J. Block and others at New Voices at the Duplex, March 13th!!

Seriously, thanks for posting your thoughts on what sounds like a fabulous night!

I figured I'd put up my review of the show since there aren't that many of them!

Monday night was such a fun night! It was an amazing evening of talented people who love what they do!

Eden sang a wonderful song, and I'm KICKING myself because I can't remember the name of it...I *think* it was called "Against Despair" but I really can't remember, written by Neil Bartram. It is from his show "Story of my Life." Her voice fit the song beautifully! What a talent!!!! Neil said that Eden really gave her time so generously to working on this song to be able to sing it that night. He said that she is such a gift to a composer...to have her sing his music. I can't wait to see where Neil's show goes. I've loved every song I've heard from it!

Christopher J. Hanke sang a beautiful song by Neil! He really has such an ability to sell a song! It was beautiful and he has such emotion! I'd never heard him sing before! But wow, I can't wait to hear more from him!

Sebastian sang two songs from Barbara Anselmi's show "The Wedding Project." I don't remember the names of them but one was a song sung by the best man and the other was a duet between the bride and the groom. They were both hilarious. I'd never heard him sing anything other than Wicked. He really has such a wonderful voice. Mamie Parris sang a song called Perfect. Barbara is a wonderful songwritter! I'm really excited for this show!!!

Scott's show "piece" is one that I really am looking forward to. He is SUCH an incredible Talent! He had Lisa Brescia sing an amazing song that I can't WAIT for everyone to hear called "Say Goodbye." It's an amazing song and I think once he gets it on his website everyone is going to adore it. I'm completely in love with it!!! It and "If I Own Today" (which is on his site) are up there with "Never Neverland!"

Stephanie DID sing Never Neverland! I figured she would since Scott said in early February in his journal "Yes, a special somebody will be singing 'Never Neverland as well." and a few days before that (before it had been announced that Stephanie would be singing there) he said "only one person can sing Never Neverland, and that is all I am saying. Hmmmm ...!!!!" That is EXACTLY how I feel about that song! It is a song that, to me, is at it's best when sung by Stephanie.

Never Neverland has been one of my favorite songs since Scott released it and to finally hear Stephanie sing it live was just such an...I don't even know what word to use...honor, pleasure, treat, all of the above; to finally be sitting there with her right in front of me listening to someone I respect so much sing a song that has truly touched me...Amazing!! If you know me at all you know the reasons as to why I respect and adore this woman with all my heart...more than anyone!! So you can imagine how wonderful monday night was for me:)

It was a wonderful evening filled with SO much talent! I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to hear these new songs and to hear such amazing people perform them. These composors are amazing and I'm sure you'll hear more from them soon. Neil Bartram sang one of his own songs called Mrs. Remington which I had heard him sing before at a previous MNNV and absolutely LOVE! (it's on Scott's website...www.scottalan.net)

Anyway, It was a wonderful night and I had an amazing time! I was able to talk to Stephanie afterwards for a while and it was good to get a chance to chat. She was so happy and full of energy. She looked beautiful and just seemed to be so full of life and joy! I'm SO glad I got a change to be there!
