If you are like me, and you enjoy the show for what it is not the camp of it all, you do not want to watch Rocky Horror with other people. Ever. At this point it is not an 'actual stage production" without the audience participation. People would (rightfully) demand their money back if they got a ticket to Rocky Horror and were told to shut up and just watch.

But god what I would give to go see Rocky Horror live without everyone stepping on jokes I find funny as written.

Considering presale starts this week I would expect a cast announcement (or atleast Frank) to be announced tomorrow.

Regarding audience participation, I watched the movie last night at home for the first time in years and it was nice to take in without people yelling through the whole thing, my wife has never seen it so we watched it at home so she didnt feel totally lost when we go to an in person event next week at Town Hall

They are doing "late" saturday performances and I could see those being disignated as "participation" performances, but idk if I would want to spend $250 on a ticket to listen to people behind me yell at the actors all night

Totally agree, but I think the longer they wait, the more heightened those complaints will be. Rip the bandaid off!

I saw the 2001 production three times and thought the audience participation was the perfect amount. I don't really enjoy midnight showings of the movie because some of them get so over the top you can't hear anything over the audience members, but found that people mainly stuck to just the most popular callbacks at the Broadway production.

I'm voting for Barry Bostwick as the narrator.

The Pittsburgh CLO production is done as a ninety-minute one act, with a four piece band and no ensemble. I saw it twice a few weeks ago: once on a night with NO audience participation, and once on a night with EXTREME audience participation. Both were fun, but the night with full interaction was way more rewarding for the audience (and for the actors onstage, who you could tell were loving it).

The first preview of Rocky isn't for another 5 months. Why is everyone expecting them to announce the cast already? This isn't Audra in Gypsy. The selling point is the show, not who is starring in it. Most likely it won't be until early 2026 that they finalize the cast and announce it.

I still think it is super weird they choose to start this in the spring instead of a halloween opening

Yes, but I think if they were going to do that, they would have announced it with the others. They simultaneously announced Byrne and O'Hara in Fallen Angels, Strong and Manville in Oedipus and Patrick Page in Archduke, plus "Rocky Horror". If they were planning to use a star to hype up Rocky Horror, seems like they would have just announced it all at once, since they were already announcing star casting for the other 3. So the fact that they didn't makes me think they're just counting on the name alone and will announce casting much closer to the start of rehearsals.

If they're not going to have a Star to announce this week, they should at least really push the messaging that it's being done by the director of OH MARY!

I’m with Jordan. This is Rocky Horror we’re talking about. One could even argue this was Roundabout “selling out” (To clarify, I love, love, love RHS)

I think it’ll do fine but (and this is just my own experience), fellow “Rocky” friends of mine are VERY skeptical about this. We’ve talked for years about how badly we want a revival and when this was announced, everyone was immediately skeptical with most saying they’re going to wait for casting before buying anything.

But a Rocky screening is cheap and this is objectively not. Why take out money for this when you could go see a shadow cast for a fraction of the price and a much bawdier experience? Like even all the Drag Shows know what time of year they should be cashing in on Rocky Horror to get more than just a "Rocky Fan" audience, which they need to make this sell.
