I think you might be able to get your equity card by performing at an official production of the Pittburgh CLO. But don't quote me.
"People have their opinions and that doesn't mean that their opinions are wrong or right. I just take it with a grain of salt because opinions are like as*holes, everyone has one".
-Felicia Finley-
"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it." -Stephen Colbert
The Pittsburgh CLO is a professional Equity company. It is preferable if selectees are union affiliated, but not essential. However, Actors’ Equity rules pertaining to use of local jobbers and non-professionals are carefully observed. All selected chorus members must join Actors’ Equity Association. Our agreement with AEA designates the use of non-pro's in small principal roles based on a ratio determined by the number of AEA members hired per show.
it'll always be situational, no hard and fast rules. Big surprise. It's THEATRE, not a trade union.
Will: They don't give out awards for helping people be gay... unless you count the Tonys.
"I guarantee that we'll have tough
times. I guarantee that at some point
one or both of us will want to get out.
But I also guarantee that if I don't
ask you to be mine, I'll regret it for
the rest of my life..."
