^The Backstreet Boys are doing some kind of triple header with 98° and Boyz 2 Men at some point in time. Not sure why he'd turn down the job otherwise, but I don't know the guy / I'm not his agent or manager.
"How was Aaron Carter in the show? Didn't get a chance to catch him."
I saw the show when he was in it. I had never heard of him before, and my impression of his performance was that his acting was great and his singing was competent and solid, but not great (i.e. nothing special). On the other hand, I was wowed by Ed Watts' singing and acting in the same performance, and I had not heard of him before at that point either. So I was surprised when I later read that Aaron Carter was already a well-known pop singer before doing the show. I would have guessed that he was more of an actor than a singer based on the performance in The Fantasticks.
I have to agree, Aaron Carter was very impressive as an actor. Excellent stage presence and his laugh lines always hit their targets. His singing though left something to be desired. He flatted out several times and was stretching to hit some of the higher notes. The producers had been sending him for singing lessons to improve his "legit" voice.
And I saw on the press release that Aaron Carter is supposed to be returning to the show after his concert tour. Anyone know if/when this will actually happen?
I see that Matt Leisy is the "official" replacement for the next six weeks. Anyone know if they're looking for another "celebrity" to come in after that? Or perhaps they just intend to have temporary replacements until Aaron Carter comes back after his tour?
