Gee ljay, why no snotty reaction to bjh's post? Someone would think you were biased.
The question is which one would be easier to get rush tickets for. Reviews of the shows weren't a part of it.
In general, I think rush is easier to get tickets for, so Night Music. You control the outcome based on what time you get to the box office, where as lottery, it's all chance.

One can't say what your "shots" of winning a lottery are, as it's entirely dependent on who shows up. You could get SRO for Night Music if you show up early enough, but I have no idea what time people are showing up. It is, however, more of a "sure thing" (provided you're early enough) than a lotto.
I thought some other posters were saying it hadn't been too insane for the SRO spots for Night Music last week. That was during a cold and unpleasant week, but I'd wager that ~7:30 or so would be fine. Plus you'd have a better shot on two show days.
TKTS is also an option for Ragtime, but not for Night Music.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.
