In this case, Christine's baby daddy is Raoul, the Phantom, and her own father. :O
(And in the book, they know Christine's son is the Phantom's because Raoul got his gamete shooter shot off in a game.)

Aw, not for stupidity. It's hard to tell that they're all Ramin, especially if you don't know that he played Raoul, the Phantom, and Daddy Daae.
He's played a gazillion huge ALW and/or Cameron Mackintosh roles. Joe Gillis, Chris Scott, Enjolras, Simon, Marius, Raoul, the Phantom...

Well. He had a tiny cameo as her dad (he was playing Raoul in the West End at the time). To quote Ramin, his name in the credits had more screen time than he did, LOL.

Yeah, his "playing" the role is only as a still photograph. I don't think there was actually any scene with him in it.

In addition to the photo, there's a really short (and silent) flashback scene where it's all blurry and he's lying in a bed, talking to young Christine. (It's what plays as Christine is telling Meg what her dad told her as he was dying, about being protected by an angel.)
My Phantom DVD was nearby, so I popped it in my laptop real quick. Ramin has a grand total of seven seconds of screen time, LOL.

Er, nope... There's the bit where Christine's on her way to the cemetery, and there's a violin playing, but it's just the background music. (And it's also in the stage show, so nothing new there.)
That would be cool if there were a Daddy Daae ghost, though.

That would be one DEEP sleep, LOL.
Something tells me ALW isn't going to give us an explanation. He'll leave us to believe what we want to believe about Gusty's conception, even though every possibility cheapens the Phantom's character.
I'm just gonna believe that it's magic and he got her pregnant by kissing her. IT WAS PHANTOM MAGIC.
OR maybe, since Raoul got his parts shot off (in the book at least), Christine wanted kids and went to a sperm bank and just HAPPENED to choose the right stuff. Yes. That's what happened.
If the Phantom works out in his spare time, who's to say that he doesn't also donate sperm in his spare time?

He can do anything he wants to except remove his disfigurement, apparently.

You want to know what I think? He's Raoul's son. Every other possibility doesn't make sense. And if it does, it cheapens the Phantom's character like somebody else said. If he's Raoul's son, it creates another complication for Phantom and Christine ever being together at all.

But if he's Raoul's son, then the only purpose he serves in the story is, as you said, to make it so Erik and Christine can't be together. But that would be pointless. They already can't be together, since, y'know, Christine is sort of married to Raoul.
