i would hardly call acting in Off-Broadway shows coming from nothing.... he is a trained actor and this being his broadway debut does not make him any more special than any other of the performers nominated

I don't get it. Yo keep rehashing and rehashing that he came from nothing. Ok we get your point!

But just because he was an usher a year ago, and wasn't a known name, does not mean he should get the Tony award.

He shouldn't. Ceveris gives a chilling and realized performance as Sweeney Todd and should win.

I finally saw JLY in Jersey Boys and he did a very good job. I liked the scene where he took responsibility for the other band member's loan-sharked debt and the unpaid taxes for the group.

His singing was very fun.

I haven't seen Cerveris in Sweeney Todd yet and I won't get to see Connick.

I enjoyed Bob Martin in Drowsy very, very much. However, I think JLY's performance having the additional dimensions of sharp dancing and fine singing lead to frontrunner between the two, thogh both of them do carry their shows in a big way, not as to lessen the worth of the other cast members, but in supporting them. Those roles are crucial, and finely cast, in both shows. Updated On: 6/5/06 at 03:58 PM

I don't know if the fact that Cerveris won just two years ago will factor in. Usually with the Oscars that works againt them, nut with the Emmy's they don't care.

I did see Stephen Lynch and found his performance acceptable but earthbound. His lower register does not have a sweet sound when he sings which actually made me think of someone better suited to play the role who could give it more elan and more of a sense at laughing at yourself while playing it. The teenage girls in the audience were mad for him, though.

JLY I find the frontrunner between the two... Updated On: 6/5/06 at 04:09 PM
