Wife and I enjoy heading into the city and seeing as much as we can (Spamalot tommorrow night!). I try to post when I can, just to give my opinion (for what it's worth), and sometimes to encourage people to go see stuff that they otherwise might not go see. There's not too much I haven't liked (it's hard enough just to get a show on Broadway), but some plays are just better than others (just in my opinion - and wifes, she doesnt always agree with me). For people who can't see much, or live far away, maybe it helps if they can narrow down their choices. I'd like to see everything if I could, and I certainly won't criticize I show if I haven't seen it yet. And sometimes there are suprises - like "All Shook Up" (MUCH better than I expected, I was going to sell the tickets on Ebay since I originally bought them since Jarod Emick from BFO was supposed to be the lead - glad I didn't sell them though!). As for GV, I hope it lasts - it really is a fun show, and the relatively newbie cast (as opposed to ASU) tries hard and provide a lot of energy!

I'm glad you enjoyed seeing GV! And thanks for getting positive comments about the show out there. <3

Also, have fun at Spamalot! I saw it last week and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Some of the songs in it are completely brilliant. XD

Ken, I do appreciate what others have to say about shows for the very reason you mentioned. So much to do...so little time.
I definitely rely on "laymen's" reviews moreso than the critics thoughts. So I will be interested to hear what you thought about Spamalot. Heck, my theatre-hatin' husband may even think about making the trip to see THAT one!
(Couldn't quite talk him into GV though. Heh.)

And the sigs keep on coming. Thanks!

Also, be sure to post your thoughts on 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' after you see it! I'd really like to know what you think of it.

Ha. Wow. Yeah, I need to find myself a husband who'll take me to all of those shows. That's so awesome!

Have either of you seen DRS? I loved it! <33

Oh, and also? Little Women is pretty enjoyable. The show isn't spectacular or anything, but it has it's moment, and as a whole, the cast is completely amazing.

No did't see DRS or Little Women. I think I'd be more interested in DRS than LW though.

Ha. All of you that say you would only go see GV if you got free tickets should have been at The View today. They just comped the entire audience 2 tickets!

DRS is SO much better than LW. Good choice!

And omg, I heard about that! Can't wait to watch it all on Friday. Lucky audience. And hopefully, they'll spread the word about how awesome it is, and we'll see another great rise in numbers soon!

Yes saw both Little Woman and DRS. Loved DRS, seeing it again in May. Little Women was good, only because of Sutton Foster (who I like). I posted a short review of Spamalot, which we saw last night.

Wife luvs Raul. Saw him in Taboo 3 times (which we both actually loved), and The Normal Heart, which was great!

BFO was the record for us though, 28 times in one year.....

Oh! I'm so glad you like DRS. Have fun again in May! Isn't Sarah Gettelfinger (Jolene Oaks) absolutely brilliant?! She desperately need a bigger part, imo.

BFO = Boy From Oz? If so, I saw that. We sat in one of the boxes. The show was a lot of fun. Watching him auction off his boxers was fun too. They went for an insanely high price. XD

Ha, I almost forgot! Isn't Sutton wonderful? I really thought the entire cast of Little Women had tremendous talent. There just wasn't enough done with it in the actual show.

And you like Taboo, really? I never saw it. It was only open a few months, wasn't it?

I just wanted to comment that my little brother (he's re: Good Vibrations Cast Recording saw his first Broadway show yesterday- Good Vibrations. I have never seen someone so enthralled. It moved me to tears, seriously. You could not believe the look of wonder on his face. I enjoyed myself too, as did the rest of my family. They liked it 10 times better than Mamma Mia, to give you an idea. There was major cheering after songs, the audience didn't seem empty at all, and there was a standing ovation for the whole cast at the end. A thoroughly wonderful theater experience for a lot of people, obviously.
I just wanted to share the "good vibes"... hehehe.
And here's to preserving Tituss Burgess' voice on CD! *raises glass*

[title of show] on Broadway. it's time. believe.

Lots of kids at "All Shook Up" too, much better play in sane vein as "Good Vibrations". But both are great for kids, gets them introduced to Broadway in a fun way (will start buggin parents and siblings to come back!), and discount tickets can be found...

BFO = "Boy From Oz", was a deserved Tony for Hugh... Saw it 28 times, every time was different!

"Taboo" would have lasted longer if Rosie marketeted it properly (CD out sooner cuz the music was great, should have offered discounts to get people to fill the 1/2 empty theatre and help "SPREAD THE WORD", and should have been in smaller venue.) Plus, some people just don't like Rosie so wouldn't go see it - fools! It was a GREAT show with a GREAT cast!

InfiniteTheaterFrenzy: I'm so glad that you and your family enjoyed the show! (Better than Mamma Mia? Wow!) And congrats to your little brother! It's awesome that he had such a wonderful time. What a great first show! Also, it's good to hear that the rest of the audience was enjoying themselves! With any luck, we'll see another rise in numbers this week!

ken8631: I was a bit upset about Hugh winning the Tony last year, actually. I saw BFO, loved the show, thought he was brilliant. But I honestly think John Tartaglia deserved it more. John's role seemed to require more work (in the way that he did multiple characters) and he pulled off completely flawless performances. Again, Hugh was wonderful, and there was nothing wrong with his performances, I just thought John T. seemed to deserve it more.

After seeing Hugh 27 times (wife saw it 2re: Good Vibrations Cast Recording, it was amazing what he did night after night, and he didn't miss a single performance, even when injured. Every show was different, and his audience interactions were nothing like I've ever seen in the theatre.

John T. was great too, saw Ave Q a few times, but nothing like HJ. Also have seen John Ts show at Joes Pub, which was also great. I was thrilled that Ave Q beat Wicked (I've seen both) for the Tony (wife had a teenage gal wearing a witches hat and carrying a broom next to her), we had all the Ave Q understudies behind us up in the mezz (we were at the Tonys, mangaed to get 2 tickets, anmazing experience). I congratulated John Ts understudy in the lobby afterwards, they were all goin nuts.

Anyway - I really do hope that GV lasts awhile, we lived in Southern Cal (Redondo Beach LA actually!) for 5 years and saw lots of Beach Boys concerts... Couldn't get enough.

I can't imagine seeing BFO that many times XD That's insane. But I do admit, the fact that he rarely (if ever?) missed a show is pretty amazing...especially nowadays (*cough*castofwicked*cough*)

That's amazing that you were at the Tonys. I think I probably would have cried from happyness had I been there. It would have been a mess XD

And that's awesome! I was born and (mostly) raised in SoCal! Born in Fountain Valley, lived in Anaheim, Irvine, and Mission Viejo. I love California. I miss the surfing, and the sun, and the shopping, and the people (I'm currently in Texas >.<). So, I basically grew up listening to my Mom's Beach Boys records and CDs. And you know, I think this show really introduces a newer generation to their music in an extremely fun way.

Lived in Torrance and Redondo Beach. Wife worked in Hawthorne (didn't Beach Boys live there too?).

And yes, I do agree the musical introduces the Beach Boys to a new generation, and thats great. I just wish that the people who did "All Shook Up" would have done "Good Vibrations" too! I think it would be even sooooooo much better than it is!

By the way, after some thought I signed your petition - I admire the effort and you are to be commended for it!

Good luck with it!

Isn't Cali great? Other than NYC, it has to be my favourite place on earth (that I've been to, anyway).

Stephen Oremus worked on All Shook Up, correct? He's amazing. I met him twice last year at both Avenue Q and Wicked. Such a nice guy and so talented. Really though, I'm happy with Good Vibrations the way it is. There're a few minor things that could be changed, but I really like it. Personal opinion of course, however.

And thank you so much for signing! It really means a ton to me! Hopefully good things will come out of it! <3

I fought pretty hard earlier this week. We got over 100 sigs in one day. But then I took a beating from life, so I didn't have much time. But now, it's the weekend and life is on the backburner, so back to fighting!

Thanks for signing! Be sure to spread the link around! Get all your friends to sign! It's what all the cool kids are doing! re: Good Vibrations Cast Recording
