Here I am, pimping my tired old @ss out once more!
I'll be doing my best Paul Lynde meets Charles Nelson Reilly meets Roz Russell in the big gay extravaganza known as FLEET WEEK playing at the Lucille Lortel this coming August as part of the New York International Fringe Festival. If you cross ON THE TOWN with the Village People vehicle CAN'T STOP THE MUSIC, you get FLEET WEEK. Set during everyone's favorite seven days in NYC, FLEET WEEK explores through song and dance how gay marriage can actually aid in the war on terror. I play a flamboyant man of God...not the bad kind that end up in jail...the good kind that enjoy martinis and the Ethel Merman Disco Album!
We have fab performance times, which are conveniently listed below:
Friday, August 19th at 7pm Saturday, August 20th at 10:30 pm Sunday, August 21 at 2:15 pm Tuesday, August 23 at 9:15 pm Friday, August 26th at 4:15 pm
The Lucille Lortel, a glorious old off-Broadway house (yes...there's air-conditioning and pretty, comfy red seats!), is located at 121 Christopher Street, between Bleeker and Hudson. All tickets are $15. I strongly encourage you to buy them ahead of time. Tickets go on sale THIS Saturday and can be purchased one of two ways:
visit www.FringeNYC.org and select the date and time of the performance of FLEET WEEK you'd like to attend or call 212-279-4488
I hope you all can make it. It should be a blast!

"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!"

Robbie, do people just call you up out of the blue to do these fun things or do you still have to audition. Is there anybody else in the cast we may have heard of?
Well...I did still have to audition...but I was kinda brought in late to the process. One audition and they handed me the part the next day! I guess things are looking up these days, ain't they?
In the cast is Melissa Hart (Tony nom for Georgy), Brian Golub (from the HAIR and CHESS concerts) and Micah Bucey (2004 Fringe Award Winner). The whole cast is pretty freaking fabulous!

Melissa Hart is one of the best actresses working today. She was our Mrs. Lovett when I did Sweeney Todd in '95 and she tore it UP!

bwaysinger - you've peaked my curiosity for sure. I studied voice with her for a brief while several years ago and she's simply the kindest and funniest woman around town. And the woman can ACT.

Now I think it's funny that just above this thread is the one about Michelle Federer as Elphaba - she was in that production of Sweeney with us also and she was so damned funny during rehearsals that I thought I'd p*ss myself a couple of times.

Wonderful, wonderful news! How exciting, I'm so happy and proud of our Robbiej, it's not often an actor is blessed to go from show to show with such speed!
with this fleet week thing, i just remembered this old couple i met, and they went back to nyc during fleet week to find the man's navy/marine/army/dont know hat which he left in a hotel room like 30 years ago, interesting huh? sorry, that was a bit random...
I'll never forget my first fleet week in NYC - I was walking down Broadway across from the Letterman show, and there's this downstairs strip club (name eludes me at the moment) but there at the door were these two butch Navy dudes in their whites, smoking cigarettes and holding beer bottles in their hands - while directly across the street on the west side of Broadway there were these two mincing gay Navy queens (also in their whites) skipping down the street with their shopping bags full of Prada...It sort of summed it all up for me.

Ummmmm.....back on subject. This thread is about robbiej.
So these "I Heart Robbie" shirts, are they in a variety of colors? Should they be show specific? Will these be red, white, and blue? Or do you, robbie dear, have your own signature color? Can they be ordered online?
I think stories about Fleet Week are very much on topic! Surely other's out there have some lovely anecdotes that are not too naughty to be shared on the boards - and that all brings more interest in seeing RobbieJ's show.
