Posted: 2/1/06 at 10:49pmI FINALLY got The Da Vinci Code on reserve at the library for me today, so I put Angels & Demons aside and just read the prologue which reads really similar to the prologue in Angels and Demons. Hmmm . . .

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Marc Haddon.
It is a little confusing sometimes because it is written in the first person through an autistic child's point of view, but it is really good.

It's not about drug or alcohol addiction, but it's semi-autobiographical (that's a mouthful..) and it deals with a young woman having a mental breakdown. Not exactly like A Million Little Pieces, but I think you'd like it if you haven't already read it :)
There wouldn't be lights bright enough!

As for Saving Fish, the only other Amy Tan I've ever read was The Bonesetter's Daughter, which I also loved... Should I bother with her other ones, or are they just way too "girly?"

I just finished Raymond Chandler's THE LONG GOODBYE, which was very good and made me wonder what on earth Robert Altman thought he was doing when he made that film.
I picked up David Foster Wallace's INFINITE JEST, which I have already read 4 times. I don't know if I'll get all the way through it, but it has been on my mind a lot lately.
