Niki is currently understudying the role of Jane in Disney's Tarzan. My vocal teacher is her vocal teacher and basically her second mother so I found out some interesting news from her. Apperently the second night when Niki went on about 2 weeks ago the Disney brass came to see because they had heard great things about her. My vocal teacher says the buzz is that she is being considered to play Ariel. I know she is very talented and I think she could pull it off great. Just thought it was an interesting little bit of information to share!
"The hallmark of aristocracy is responsibility. Oh brother, that got me, that did me in!"
she is GORGEOUS and she sounds just like Ariel when she sings "Part of my World" SOMEONE needs to discover this adorable, YOUNG talent. (she understudied Millie in the EQUITY Tour of TMM...amazing!)
I agree with what someone posted before. A newcomer would be very exciting! And I also can't think of a Broadway star who would be "perfect." We will see! Does anyone know if they're going to take the Denver cast to Broadway? Or will they cast again?
I'm surprised that no one's mentioned Mandy Moore.
I also thought about Annaliese Van Der Pol, she does have the Disney connection.
Amy Jo Johnson popped into my head, too. She doesn't seem to age.
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter
