This is the revival that I saw on Broadway in 1987 or 1988. It seems that every production has its own surprises.

I wonder what ending Grey did for the 87 revival?

I love old Playbills. There's still more than a few familiar names on that cast list.

What do you think is the scariest line in Cabaret?

(By line I mean a quote)

I think it's "Where are your troubles now? Forgotten? I told you so..."

What ending did it have?

I know the ending that I like the best... but was that the ending from the 1987 Broadway revival or was it from the original. It could have been from the movie that I've probably seen a dozen times. Or possibily from one of the other regional shows that I've seen. I asked my friends how the current show in Sacramento ends and although the ending they are using sounds fantastic... that's not it either.

Lately I've been having dreams about Cabaret. My latest one was one where I was a patron at the club and got kicked out by the Nazis. re: Cabaret-- a Discussion

Lol!

What is your favorite quote from Cabaret?

I like "Where are your troubles now? Forgotten? I told you so..."

It's so creepy how Alan or Matt or Raul or Vance or Adam say that.

Ah... each gave their own twist on that line! ^__^

My dad has had 'The Money Song' stuck in his head all day. Yesterday it was 'Two Ladies' and the day before that it was 'Don't Tell Mama'.

Ahh, such terribly catchy music!

I had a Cabaret-related dream today.

I dreamt that I was looking for someone in an orchestra and the band started playing 'Don't Tell Mama'. :)

What, in your opinion, is the catchiest song in Cabaret?

For me it's 'Money' and 'Don't Tell Mama'.

When I saw a regional production, the emcee was amazing. The ending was so cool though. He came out in his "concentration-camp attire" and stood there creepily for a few moments before a gunshot was heard. He was standing on the edge of the stage and simply leaned forward and, completely straight, fell into the pit. It was really powerful.

Also wondering which recording is everyone's favorite...

In the one I saw, it had the emcee drssed in a Nazi uniform and Schultz, Schneider, Sally, and Kost were lined up in a row.

When the cymbals crashed in imitation of a gunshot, they fell down and the Emcee saluted. Very scary.

How was Alan in this role?? No one has been talking about him at all! Has Alan been the best Emcee in recent years?

Question: Will Esparza win for The Homecoming? BobbyBubby: I hope so. If only for the mental health of many people on this board.

Well, I guess you could say that Alan completely re-interpreted the role. I'm sure he was brilliant.

way to spend the day I believe I saw the same regional production and I agree... I emcee was fabulous. Interresting to note, I believe he was injured one night as he fell into the pit.

I am not Tony winner Dan Fogler.
