Does anyone know how long it takes for someone to recover from surgery due to a torn Achilles tendon? He tore his earlier this week and I was just wondering.
He was actually going to play Henry Higgins in a production of My Fair Lady with Susan Egan as Eliza and Hugh Panaro as Colonel. Pickering with The Young Americans for Tarbell Realty's annual award ceremony
Stokes needs to get himself a better agent. Henry Higgins was written with a non-singer in mind. Even if he sings every note, it's not a challenging role for him to undertake.
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
It's a one night event, not a full production. The appearance is more important than how challenging the role is.
I know someone who had surgery on a torn Achilles tendon, and depending on the severity, six weeks recovery is ok if all he's going to do is sit there. My cousin was in physical therapy for months before she could dance again.

Wanting life but never
knowing how
I remember when my father tore his. Even though the tendon is in the ankle his cast went all the way up his thigh. Walking was very difficult for him. Simple tasks got really difficult for him. I remember once he asked me to change my sister's diaper which I had never done before. When he picked her up the diaper fell off. lol
Anyway, when is the concert? I'd have to think he'll back out. Even sitting can be hard if he still has his cast on. He can't bend his leg and will have to have to sit with it stretched out in front of him. They usually have stools in concerts which have no back support. I have to think that would be very uncomfortable for him.

We must have different Gods. My God said "do to others what you would have them do to you". Your God seems to have said "My Way or the Highway".
That's less than two weeks away. I have to imagine he won't be there.
The OP stated that BSM tore his Achillies tendon earlier this week. Has he even had surgery yet? I wouldn't count on him being there.

Yes, he has been replaced. We actually got very lucky. Christopher Cazenove who played Higgins in the West End and on tour is in LA until the 17th so he joined.
And I was wrong, Hugh Panaro is not Colonel Pickering, he is in the Brigadoon Medley before My Fair Lady. Pickering is played by Walter Charles, who has previously played opposite Cazenove in the same role.
