I hate to be crass (…I actually don’t hate to be crass), but **** them. We’ve gotten to the point where celebrity prices are being weaponized 😂😂😂

Kind of funny that a year ago he was making thinly-veiled jabs at Seaview in the NYTimes for leaning on celebrity casting.

There is no way the cheapest seats available will be over $250.

..........right? 🫣 LOL

That's what is very unclear? I don't need a premium seat to this show, I'd just like to see it. And I am 100% certain these $250 seats will not be the best in the house... I'm guessing they will be in the back and to the sides. Is the implication that the last row of the balcony will be more than $250 when they go on sale to the general public?

Re: Bess Wohl’s “Small Mouth Sounds” Broadwaybound?

It would be extraordinarily unprecedented if the cheapest seats were over $250.

In 2017, I wouldn’t have put it past Rudin, but in this image rehab era of his career, I can’t see a world where he pulls a stunt like that.

I would assume- or I guess, more accurately, hope- that what it means is that the tickets that are part of the $250 presale are the ones that will be more expensive on general sale.

But the thing is, I don't think this is really a deal if one really only cares about seeing Small Mouth Sounds. These are functionally at least $400 tickets once you factor in the mandatory Downstate ticket purchase. If you're unwilling or unable to see Downstate, you're not getting a deal, really.

That feels very hopeful indeed. I hope you're right and I'm just being cynical.

The press release posted earlier makes it sound like they are premium seats: orchestra and front mezz

"Audience members who purchase tickets to performances through November 22 of Downstate will immediately receive an exclusive, single-use presale code granting access to purchase select Orchestra and Front Mezzanine tickets to this spring’s Small Mouth Sounds, for $250 each, at SmallMouthSoundsBroadway.com. Re: Bess Wohl’s “Small Mouth Sounds” Broadwaybound?

This is a good idea in theory but the price points might be too high to be all that helpful.

I could see it working better where a $99+ ticket to Downstate gets you presale access to all Small Mouth tickets. Or even a selection of $199 Small Mouth seats.

$150 and $250 aren’t attractive numbers. It’s also getting people “pre-mad” over the eventual ticket prices.

I would have preferred buying a Downstate ticket gets you access to a future pre-sale for this. Having to buy them both all on the same day, one that isn't even opening for 6 months, is a little annoying. But I also get they want the money now
