As of Tuesday they were still accepting submissions via mail.
"I'm that one in a million chance when the director says 'you', the small town boy who makes it big, the one that little children and grown men and women will adore, I'm that shot in the dark everyone talks about, you may not know my name yet, but you will, everyone will, someday."- Me

Although it won't happen, I believe if Benanti went directly from closing WOMEN ON THE VERGE into ANYTHING GOES rehearsal's she could do it, if we're talking a 5-6 weeks rehearsal process.
But, this isn't going to happen anyways.

Isn't Reno supposed to be older than Billy? Maybe it's just the way I've always seen it cast.
"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it." -Stephen Colbert

ATTENTION FANS: I will be played by James Barbour in the upcoming musical, "BroadwayWorld: The Musical."
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

None of these (Michael Arden perhaps being the exception) come across as being young enough to play against Sutton's Reno. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Billy supposed to be mid 20s?

Whether or not he's too old, I'd be willing to bet any amount of money that Roundabout tried to get Harry Connick Jr. for Billy. He's everything Billy should be- attractive, charismatic, and a real crooner. Who wouldn't want to hear his voice singing these Cole Porter standards? Plus he'll turn this production into a sell out hit, like he did Pajama Game.
Jayne Houdyshell as Evangaline seems inevitable (and REALLY obvious), and I fear she'd just play Mae Peterson again.
Laura Osnes is unfortunately going to be busy with that Wildhorn show, Bonnie and Clyde.
