I have read so much about most of the other musicals opening before the Tony cut-off date, but THE PEOPLE IN THE PICTURE remains a little bit of an unknown player in the field. Has anyone heard anything (besides the cast, the story-line and the creators) about this musical? It sounds like it could be interesting and different from everything else out there.
I am looking forward to this show. I saw a reading of it several years ago and enjoyed it. Hope it does not fly under the radar because of so many new shows this season!!
Well, Donna Murphy is involved so I doubt it'll fly under the radar. She's so incredibly picky when it comes to committing to a project, especially with her little daughter now, that I'm hoping her involvement means that she felt this was a worthy project. I'm going to NYC exclusively to see it, I'm excited beyond words to see her back on the Broadway stage (let's hope this works out better than LOVEMUSIK, she was brilliant in that...unfortunately the show wasn't)
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
Liotte, can you describe the music from the reading you witnessed? In a video on the Roundabout site, Donna describes it as one of the most beautiful scores she has ever heard.
Edit: Also is anyone planning to go to the first preview on April 1st? I'm dying to find out some more about this show.

I've spoken with a cast member who was saying that the show has much potential and that Donna Murphy is doing a great job. The person was very enthusiastic about the material per se.
Awesome! I didn't know that before, thanks for the info!
