I wonder what the casting for this will look like ... so many directions they could go with his.

 

Truly think it is Nicole’s to lose. Audra has six Tony’s and (wrongly) has a lot of ill-will directed towards her from how her last Broadway gig went down among producers in the voting pool. Audra doesn’t need 7 IMO. Especially when Patti was so legendary in the role. 

Have to say I am stunned by BTTF ... really thought we had another long running hit on our hands. But it's says our numbered, it seems.

Denee Benton, Keke Palmer or Joy Woods as Louise and I am more than happy! 

Have a very strong feeling this will take the Lunt or the Palace ... pending on the Success or lack there of with DEATH BECOMES HER & TAMMY FAYE. If this plans to open in the spring it would likely have it's choice between the tow houses.

Though I will say ... from that Bows image the fashion looks a bit ... Prom Dress Store? Perhaps it's a bit in the show about all the bad fashion they reject before getting to the good looks that Miranda approves of? 

Reports are strong out of first preview ... with a bit of criticism of Vanessa Williams in the role. But Everything I have read is very complimentary of the work done to the score since Chicago.

First Preview is today ... anxious to hear reports on changes made from the Chicago Production as this is almost (if not entirely) a new creative team minus Elton John. Fingers Crossed!

MADE TO LAST is clearly an inferior take on ITS ALL OVER from Dreamgirls ... but I have to say I really love it lol.

I am still shocked OUTSIDERS won … more so because it is primarily a young adult story that we haven’t seen win in a while. Really thought SUFFS or ILLINOISE would take it.

Rooting for ILLINOISE OR W4E to pull the ultimate upset of the evening. I continue to be surprised by the wins tonight. 

lol I’m enjoying the upsets. Keep them coming. Keeping the night interesting. But truly stunned by Maria not winning for direction.

Just have a feeling the vote will split between OUTSIDERS/SUFFS/HK ... opening a path forward for ILLINOISE. I could be wrong. But I can't help but think this will certainly work in it's favor.

IMO … Water for Elephants deserves best musical of the five that are nominated. I also firmly believe there is a path forward for it (especially if the HK/SUFFS splits the vote.)

Final prediction is SUFFS. It feels like the community is really rallying behind Shaina Taub & all the work she has put into the show. Not to mention starring in it as well. There could be a surprise … but I’m sticking with SUFFS.

Hearing nothing but glowing reviews out of tonights invited dress!! Hope this is able to transfer.
