re: Barrett Foa, Tribute Thread.

Was at Barrett's dress rehearsal for BEE yesterday... he's phenomenal as Leaf. If you get a chance, go see him. Absolutely adorable.

Find out who their agents are and send them a note through the agency.

It's because she basically found the American Theatre Wing and was chairman.

I did a whole research paper on her/the Tony Awards in high school. What a nerd I was.

I actually quite enjoy her solo music... I wish she'd do more of that and less of Wicked.

Why don't you go to his website and send him a message? I'm sure he'd be the best source for the info you're looking for.

re: Idina reportedly highest paid actress in West End History

My God... that makes me sick. I'm indifferent when it comes to Idina. I don't think she's bad, I don't think she's great. I think she's quite mediocre in fact, with some impressive moments thrown in here and there. I cannot fathom how she is the highest paid actress in the west end's history... not when some amazing talents have come and gone over there. Where is the justice in this world?

That's their EP... their actual CD should be released soon. Keep your eyes open for it.
re: Alice Ripley and Emily Skinner Concert

I wish it were at a venue where RIPLEY could make a little appearance and promote some songs from Outtasite... alas, um, a cabaret festival is not the place to do that. :-

I'm SURE they'll have some solos. It would be lame if they just sang all duets. They're singing from their duet albums and on Unsuspecting Hearts they have about three solos each.

I was at that China Club performance. My favorite part was when they did impressions of each other.

This whole ordeal is going to be complete deja vu. I feel like hell has frozen over... never thought we'd see the day they did another concert together.

Unsuspecting Hearts and Duets... I haven't listened to those songs in years.

It should be an interesting evening.

re: Lesbian musicals?

Re: Personals: You mean "I Could Always Go To You", which is also featured on Emily Skinner's self titled solo album, accompanied by none other than the lovely Alice Ripley.

Re: Daisy and Violet: incestual relations are for another thread, but since you brought it up, wouldn't that just be considered masturbation?

My Life With Albertine is full of lesbians.

Emma Goldman gives Evelyn Nesbit a very sexual backrub in the book, that leads into (implied) sex. So

Yes, I'll be in the city this summer as well. I missed all those gigs before the big relocation because *I* was out of town. Not cool. Not cool at all.

Fabulous Invalid in Boston... and Shakespeare in Hollywood in D.C. I don't remember if those were before or after Five Flights, but the ho' can definitely act.

Ha, yeah, two years ago...then last fall... then this past February... and... then... "this summer". I'm going to PM you. :)

re: Alice Ripley

She hasn't given up on theatre completely. I mean, come on, she just did an ALW concert in Iowa last week! (Please sense the sarcasm in my tone...) And earlier this year she worked on a reading in NY. I'm sure she'll return to Broadway when the tim is right. :)

Anyway, here's the dealie... her band has a new CD coming out (that SHOULD be released really soon...). The music is freakin' amazing and you should all buy a copy as soon as it comes out!!!! (That's not a suggestion, it's an o

re: Which Performers Would Best Fit in the Golden Age?
 May 14 2006, 07:52:07 PM
It's Ginger Rogers... and I'd say she was an actor first and foremost (and it's a huge misconception that she was a dancer first, because she was a far superior actress), then a strong dancer and passable singer, though her voice vastly improved with age.

Sorry, huge fan. :)

That probably would have required her having been there most of the run, though...
