Denzel Washington to return to Broadway in OTHELLO?
 Sep 12 2024, 10:52:37 AM

I just got my seats for one of the last previews and there were no center orchestra seats available/on sale, and less than 15 seats available in side orchestra for the dates I checked. Front Mezz was almost completely unavailable as well. It will be interesting ot see if a lot of seats were held back or have already sold. (Probably the former for either general sale or comps).

THE NOTEBOOK to Close on Broadway on December 15, 2024

With Moulin Rouge announcing John Cardoza joining the cast on October 15, is that a sign that Notebook will be closed by then?

I would recommend the low numbers (between 6 and 15) if possible. If you sit in Row A, then you may have the ability to be minorly involved pre-show and during the finale. The cabaret seating is okay, but you do miss a bit of the action coming from behind you toward the stage area, and there are various pillars/trees that could block your view unless you're the front row of tables. Additionally, they aren't raked. Be careful about the very high numbers as well, because pillars ov

THE QUEEN OF VERSAILLES musical will have pre-Bway tryout this summer in Boston
 Aug 2 2024, 09:29:42 AM

I was at the opening last night and there was a definite difference in reaction between the entrance applause (which was thunderous) and the curtain call (which was tentative relatively). A lot of people were muttering about amazing performers with less than amazing material.

The main problem I had with it was that it never makes us care for Jackie as a person—her rise to wealth happens almost immediately, so we see her mainly as rich and out-of-touch. Furthermore, the entire

I’m going Monday night and regardless of anything else, I have high hopes for the 21 piece orchestra performing that score.

Ah; you appear to be correct, but I would venture to guess that if they’ve left the Telecharge info up that they intend to keep it rather than choosing a template without it. I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough.

Would a Vladimir Putin Santa just give everyone coal or would some kids get more coal than others? hmm

CABARET at the Kit Kat Club (2024) Opening Night Critics' Reviews

Is this another "raves in London, so we have to hate it in NY?" Or is it really as bad as these reviews make it seem. Either way, that $26 million's gotta be a weight on somebody's shoulders right about now. And hey, the name recognition will probably pull it through, but the path seems a little tougher than maybe was previously thought?

What Next For The Majestic?

Hasn't she explicitly said there's no truth that she's doing Gypsy?

Audra deflected a question in a red carpet interview, but didn't outright deny that it's happening. She didn't look straight into the camera and say "I, Audra McDonald, am not doing Gypsy next season and have no plans to do Gypsy," she laughed it off and said something to the effect of "haha, lots of rumors swirling... just rumors though..."
"

To your point, here’s the Playbill article with the exact quote from February: https://playbill.com/article/not-her-turn-yet-audra-mcdonald-speaks-out-about-gypsy-revival-rumors
