Most mess ups to you go completely unnoticed by the audience.

I heard my voice "crack" if you will (but not a big one,but noticeable to me) during our run of into the woods (i was rapunzel)and I came backstage like "almost perfect except for that crack" and not a soul had heard it. LOL and during a dress rehearsal my whole wig came off during "stay with me"...

I love theatre.

and all that I could do because of you was talk of love...

I can't help it, I just love bloopers.

Did anyone see Mary Poppins when Ashley Brown couldn't get the door open on stage? And she was like "oh dear, the door wont open... take the other (wing) exit"

I was watching The Apple Tree, and something went wrong with Kristin's entrance as oppoesd to the orchestra and what not and Kristin just goes "Umm Excuse me? Hehe hii. We'll just try that again." And she was cute, and everyone laughed and thought it was part of the show. I don't know why, but they did. It happens to everyone. When I did Damn Yankees, I was singing and dancing for "Whatever Lola Wants" and I tripped RIGHT over the bench Joe was sitting on. And I mean FELL. I went "kurplunk".

During You're A good Man Charlie Brown, we were doing "Beethoven Day" and our set fell over.

During The Wizard of Oz, our lion fell right off the stage. And she was wearing that big heavy lion costume you can rent. And she couldn't get up.

My favorite story:
The first time I saw Aaron Lazar in The Light in the Piazza, he and Kelli O'Hara were exiting and she stumbled in her heels and knocked into him, catching him off guard and almost making him fall. He caught her, but later on in the show he ending up falling right on his ass coming down the stairs.

I mean, Denzel Washington? Gun to my head..of course.

In a production of Jesus Christ Superstar, Judas was walking towards the audience and went right off the stage.

Hopefully these stories are making the original poster feel better, lol

misschung, that was on Broadway! My friends were there - it was their first evening out after their baby was born, and I was babysitting.

I recently had to dance in a show, and it was my first time dancing in public after a year of lessons, and I had a little trouble. We had very little rehearsal and I was with people who all had much more experience than I. It felt awful, I'm still embarrassed when I think about it. But, the fact is, my friends who were there barely noticed it and haven't brought it up since. Unfortunately, there are people on this board who've spent more time trying to make sure I never forget about it than the time I actually spent messing up.

We all just need to remember that everyone makes mistakes. Some are in front of a Broadway audience and some are in front of your high school peers, and when you're in the moment, it all feels the same.

lol! My friend was there, too. I would say "poor Judas" but it sounds strange...

and you are right - when its happening it always feels the same. I remember playing an entire violin piece with one string out of tune. Of course I noticed right away and had to continue with the whole duet - it was awful! How that damn string came untuned I still can't figure out...
